I finally finished this piece with a quick lick on the linisher with cerium.
Very hard times at the moment with all the glass closures recently…. It feels like the end of my career, but I will hang on! With almost 30 years as a student and professional, I refuse to give up! 🔥❤️🔥

🚨 The application deadline for the International Biennale of Glass 2027 is approaching! Submit your application by 15 August 2026 to be part of Bulgaria's largest international event dedicated exclusively to contemporary glass art.

In 2027, the International Biennale of Glass will celebrate its 6th edition. Since its foundation in 2017, the Biennale has brought together nearly 900 artists from around the world, establishing itself as an important platform for contemporary glass art.

The exhibition will take place 24 September – 5 December 2027 at the National Gallery / Kvadrat 500 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

We welcome artists from around the world working with glass. There are no restrictions on age, place of residence, or professional experience.

We made this many moons ago now. This is Phil’s creative process for a series of twisted pod artworks that many sold in an exhibition in Taiwan. We worked together on the film using old point and shoot digital cameras and iMovie. We also made our own music using GarageBand.

Applications are now open | Glass Artist in Residence

The World of Glass invites applications for two Glass Artist in Residence opportunities taking place between October 2026 and March 2027.

The residency offers two weeks of dedicated access to our hot and cold glass studios, accommodation, materials, and a £500 contribution towards the creation of a new work for The World of Glass' nationally accredited museum collection.

We welcome applications from glass artists at all stages of their careers, from the UK and internationally, who are interested in developing their practice while engaging with one of Britain's most significant centres of glass heritage.

As part of the residency, artists will create a new work for the museum collection and share aspects of their practice through public engagement.

Applications close: 15 August 2026.
