๐จ FRESHERS WEEK SAFETY TIP #1: HELP US HELP YOU
With Freshers Week approaching in Sunderland, we want students starting university for the first time โ and those returning for another year โ to enjoy everything the city has to offer safely.
๐ฑ Before you head out, take two minutes to set up an emergency contact on your phone.
Itโs a really simple step, but if you become unwell, get separated from your friends or find yourself in a vulnerable situation, having your emergency information set up can help someone quickly contact a person you trust.
Set it up now โ not when you need it.
๐ iPhone
Go to Health โ Medical ID โ Edit โ Emergency Contacts and add someone you trust.
Make sure Show When Locked is switched on so your Medical ID can be viewed from the lock screen in an emergency.
๐ค Android
Go to Settings โ Safety & emergency โ Emergency contacts.
The exact wording may vary depending on your phone.
๐ก And donโt forget to tell the person youโve added them as your emergency contact.
It takes two minutes. It could make a big difference when it matters.
At Alpha J Security, keeping people safe isnโt just about responding when something goes wrong. Itโs also about helping people take simple steps to be prepared.
So whether youโre heading to Freshers events, enjoying Sunderland city centre or simply having a night out with your mates:
๐ป Have fun.
๐ Look out for your mates.
๐ฑ Be prepared.
๐ก๏ธ Help us help you.
If someone is seriously unwell or in immediate danger, always call 999.
Over the coming weeks, weโll be sharing more simple safety tips to help students enjoy Freshers Week and Sunderlandโs nightlife safely.
๐ Know someone starting or returning to university? Share this with them โ two minutes now could really help later.
