🚨 FRESHERS WEEK SAFETY TIP #1: HELP US HELP YOU

With Freshers Week approaching in Sunderland, we want students starting university for the first time — and those returning for another year — to enjoy everything the city has to offer safely.

📱 Before you head out, take two minutes to set up an emergency contact on your phone.

It’s a really simple step, but if you become unwell, get separated from your friends or find yourself in a vulnerable situation, having your emergency information set up can help someone quickly contact a person you trust.

Set it up now — not when you need it.

🍎 iPhone
Go to Health → Medical ID → Edit → Emergency Contacts and add someone you trust.

Make sure Show When Locked is switched on so your Medical ID can be viewed from the lock screen in an emergency.

🤖 Android
Go to Settings → Safety & emergency → Emergency contacts.
The exact wording may vary depending on your phone.

💡 And don’t forget to tell the person you’ve added them as your emergency contact.

It takes two minutes. It could make a big difference when it matters.
