9 years ago today I was the documentary photographer at a shoot with my mate Terry Morris with Miss Katherine Jenkins. The photo shoot was part of a series we did for the Cool Cymru project. 9 years, how fast the time passes us by!

🎉 Celebrating 20 Years of my business, ‘Helen Rhiannon’ 🎉

Today marks 20 incredible years since I launched my business, ‘Helen Rhiannon’. My journey started with a love for sewing and has grown into something beyond my wildest dreams!

From a fashion graduate with a passion for dressmaking, to a bestselling author, award-winning designer and sell out sewing tutor, it’s been an incredible adventure.

My love for sewing began in school and it grew into a love for creating clothing. After graduating in Fashion Design in London in 2003, I turned that passion into a business. Over the years, I have created everything from prom dresses and pageant gowns to bespoke bridalwear.

I launched ‘All Sewn Up Wales by Helen Rhiannon’ 15 years ago after my time teaching in schools and colleges. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of teaching thousands of people to sew, launching my Dressmaking: The Easy Guide book, and building an amazing sewing community worldwide.

I am planning to film a series on YouTube about the last 20 years, so watch this space. 🎬

I wanted to share something different today. My dedication and acknowledgements.

When I proposed my idea of the book to Katie French, I was a few months pregnant. My bump was with me from day one.

At 20 weeks, we discovered our unborn baby had a heart condition and would need open heart surgery straight after birth. My world was turned upside down. Everything was put on hold whilst I attended appointment after appointment. I was treated like royalty by the NHS!

When Morgan was born in February 2020, he had open heart surgery at 10 days old. We are eternally grateful to every professional we met on our journey and especially the team who saved his life at 10 days old.

Three weeks after we finally got home, we went into lockdown. Not the maternity leave I had planned!

I had planned to write the book when Morgan was with his grandparents, but that couldn't happen. Instead, Morgan was with me every step of the way!!

4 years later, my book is due out this week! Morgan is an incredible little boy and so loved.

It seemed fitting that I thanked the incredible NHS publicly in my book. THANK YOU 💗
