☀️ Agadir & Taghazout update — Thursday 10 September 2026 🇲🇦

There is a slight cooling in conditions today, with clear skies, temperatures around 28–31°C, and a light coastal breeze. Last few days have been over 40 and extremely hot. The heat is expected to intensify again from Friday, with sunny conditions and temperatures rising to around 35–37°C or higher over the weekend and into early next week. Windy conditions may be noticeable, especially along the coast.

Taghazout is currently looking good for coastal activities, with sea temperatures around 27°C, light wind, and swell close to 1 metre. Surf conditions can change during the day, so check the latest local forecast before heading out.

🌴 Tourist tips for the next few days:

Today is a good day for a relaxed café visit, shopping at Souk El Had, or exploring indoor attractions.
Friday and the weekend look better for beaches, sightseeing, Paradise Valley, Taghazout, and sunset walks.
With temperatures climbing again, plan longer walks and excursions for the morning or late afternoon.
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, loose clothing, and plenty of water. Do take care as the UV is extreme.

For Agadir taxis, use a red petit taxi for short city journeys and agree the fare before setting off if the meter is not being used. For airport or Taghazout transfers, arrange transport through your hotel or a reputable provider, or message us and we can recommend someone.

💷 Exchange-rate guide:

The current mid-market rate is very good at approximately £1 = 12.7 MAD, or 1 MAD = about £0.078. That makes 100 MAD roughly £7.80, before any bank, card, or exchange-office fees.

Have a wonderful time in Agadir and Taghazout—and remember, the Atlantic breeze can make the coast feel cooler than the temperature suggests! 🌊

ATM tip!

If you see an ATM with CIH bank, this is a legitimate bank. A CIH bank ATM will be integrated within a building. You will be charged about 33/35 dirham (£2.50-£3.00) by CIH for withdrawing cash, plus any feedback your own bank charges (if any).

If you see one like this one pictured with Euronet on it, this is different. You can expect to pay between 50 and 65 dirham (£4 - £5.20) plus your own bank charges (if any).

If you are asked if you want conversion ALWAYS SAY NO! Just by selecting yes this can cost you an additional £20 for nothing.

☀️ Agadir & Taghazout update — Monday 24 August 2026 🇲🇦

Agadir is looking bright, dry, and warm over the next five days, with daytime temperatures generally around 27°C–34°C and cooler evenings between approximately 18°C and 21°C. Rain is unlikely, although temperatures and forecasts can vary slightly between the coast and inland areas.

Taghazout should also have mostly sunny, dry conditions, with a refreshing Atlantic breeze along the coast. It’s a great time for surfing, swimming, beach walks, sunset views, and enjoying the cafés, although the sea breeze may make it feel cooler than the daytime temperature suggests.

🌴 Ideas for visitors:
Explore Agadir Oufella and enjoy the views across the city.
Browse the colours, food, and atmosphere of Souk El Had.
Take a trip to Paradise Valley or the surrounding countryside.
Visit Taghazout and nearby Tamraght for surf beaches and coastal scenery.
Enjoy a traditional hammam or a Moroccan meal by the sea.

🚕 Taxi tip:
For short journeys in Agadir, look for a petit taxi. Before setting off, check that the meter is being used; if it isn’t, agree the fare clearly in advance. For airport journeys or trips to Taghazout, it is usually easier to arrange a price through your hotel or a reputable transfer company.

💷 Exchange-rate guide:
The Moroccan dirham is currently around 1 MAD = £0.08, or approximately £1 = 12.5 MAD. As a rough guide, 100 MAD is about £8, before any card, bank, or exchange-office charges.

🧴 Travel tip:
The UV can be very high, so pack high-factor sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and a refillable water bottle. Plan strenuous sightseeing for the morning or late afternoon, and take extra care during the hottest part of the day.

Tickets from 230 MAD (standard) up to 600 MAD (VVIP). Great one for anyone wanting live music with an ocean backdrop this weekend 🎶🌊

💡 TOURIST TIP
UV is Extreme (10-11) most days this week, so even a cloudy-looking sky will still burn you fast. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours and take extra care between 12–4pm ☀️🧴

🍽️ WHERE TO GO FOR DINNER + ENTERTAINMENT
Try Dfrost – Kitchen Club at the Seaside Boutique Hotel, right on Taghazout's beachfront. It's a proper sit-down restaurant with mezze boards and Mediterranean/Middle Eastern plates, and on weekends they bring in DJs and live music sets (some ticketed — check their Instagram before heading down). A great way to pair dinner with an evening buzz without leaving Taghazout, especially with TaghaMusic Festival lighting up the bay the same weekend 🌊🎶

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 FAMILY DAY OUT
Take the kids to Crocoparc, just outside Agadir — home to 300+ Nile crocodiles plus a botanical garden and shaded walkways, making it an easy half-day out without a long transfer or much walking. Most tours bundle in hotel pickup, which keeps things simple with little ones in tow 🐊🌿
