With a heavy heart I am writing this update to tell you that Desk Cowork is closing for the foreseeable future.
The last few months have been a real challenge, and just when I thought we would be able to re-open in at least some stripped down capacity, social distancing combined with an large and untimely rent increase has made our community space unviable to re-open at all.
It has been a very hard week processing all of the emotions as Desk Cowork has been such a big part of my life, and equally I must admit a feeling of guilt as I know too well that Desk has provided a community and workspace that many of you value as much as I. | We’ve had over 100 members over the last 4 years through our small but beautiful workspace - how about that?! ⭐️ Many businesses have started at Desk, having flown the nest to larger premises, and many freelancers, contractors and self employed have progressed their careers and enjoyed their work life balance so much more, thanks to Desk 🙏🏼 Desk and I won Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018 🏆and we’ve successfully hosted so many events with incredible guest speakers! 🎤
I want to say a massive thank you to every one of our members, current and former - you all supported something special that created new businesses, friendships, jobs opportunities and a lot of laughs and fun times 💛
I won’t call this the end just yet, however we might need to lay dormant for a while. Once everything simmers down we might have the opportunity to re-launch in a property that is 10x more suited for our ever growing business - for now, who knows what the future holds! 💭
During this time, please do your part to keep our thriving Old Town community alive, there are so many incredible small businesses - many of whom I have been lucky enough to know through Desk - and they need you now more than ever 🙏🏼
