Our financial planning specialist is Chris of Christopher Pugh Wealth Management who helps individuals, couples and business owners plan for their financial future. Chris is able to help anyone worried about the potential scrapping of the government's policy of the 'triple lock'. He can explain what it is, what it is not and help mitigate any risks around it if the 'lock' is removed in the coming years.

One of the speakers at our last meeting was Fiona Scott of Scott Media who is a qualified journalist and PR expert. She talked about some PR myths which other members might hear as they go about their business and to listen out for these red flags.

These include PR companies which talk about 'earned media' or boast about getting your story in front of 400 journalists without explaining that 395 of those journalists won't be interested!!!

Our HR specialist is Paul Himple of Go Legal HR who helps business owners stay compliant and caring when it comes to their employees. Paul is helping companies in and around Swindon who are having to incorporate the new changes coming into place as a result of the new Employment Rights Act.

All companies with employees have to take action and update contracts and policies and procedures around these changes. Some come into force this month and some at the turn of the year.

Sinead Nolan-Martin is our charity member representing Prospect Hospice. She works with businesses where their owners, directors and/or staff want to support the Hospice which does vital work in Swindon and Wiltshire supporting those who have life-limiting conditions.

Sinead has lived experience of the work done by the team at Prospect and now she's part of that team.

At our last meeting our PR member Fiona Scott of Scott Media told everyone that she recently renewed her membership due to the relationships she'd developed in the room with fellow members.

These people support her in life and in business and she's a firm believer in the two way street of business - the give and take of working together in collaboration.

One of the speakers at our last meeting was Ninian MacGregor of P2P AI Consultancy who shared the story of his business and gave members some basics of AI and how it can help anyone in business save time. However he warned that AI is not the answer to everything - it's an intern in the business and needs to be taught, checked and controlled.

Our mortgage specialist is James Harris of TED Mortgages who has been helping people re-mortgage as interest rates have started to rise. He's been advising clients around taking out a tracker mortgage or a fixed rate if they wanted to predict their costs for a fixed period of time.

Our commercial photographer is Fran Robinson of Photography By Fran who was named recently as Solopreneur of the Year 2026 at the Great British Business & Community Awards.

Since our last meeting she'd run her own mini brand shoot and had also done an event with fellow member Fiona Scott for one of Scott Media's clients and alongside one of Scott Media's Speakers Chris Hunt Skelley MBE.

Our specialist in later life mortgages is Ian Noble of Property Wealth Advice Ltd. He talked about meeting a new potential client every day in September yet sometimes he advises that this route is not right for them.

With interest rates rising (and in later life mortgages rates are higher) some things like home improvements are not suitable.

However for those who may be coming to the end of their mortgage and they can't pay it off and they are living with worry and stress - this could be an answer and he will ensure that any person will fully understand what that involves.
