Nothing to see here.

Just one of our members with their disposable BBQ, claiming the sun trap terrace and making the most of a sunny afternoon in Manchester (you don’t waste sunny afternoons when you live here).

This is what Ministry of Work actually looks like.

A building and community you feel at home with, where nobody bats an eye at twenty minutes of doing absolutely nothing because you’ve probably earned it.

We’re in a 19th-century chapel with a sun trap.

Sometimes people work. Sometimes they grill things.

Both are allowed 😂

Are you a founder or business leader living in Manchester or Salford?

We’re an exclusice ‘work club’ (think workspace, meets private members club) for business leaders across Greater Manchester to come together.

Our founder, Eddie Whittingham previously built and scaled a software business before buying and converting this 19th century chapel, and now it’s home to over 60 amazing business owners ranging from fin-tech, to media, to construction - and everything inbetween!

This place isn’t about just being a desk or the coffee (although we get that from and it’s 👌) and we’ve never wanted it to be “just another workspace.”

Instead, it’s a place purpose built for founders and leaders to find a bit sanctuary and focus, as well as learning from those a few steps ahead of you.

So, if you’re a founder or leader and you’re craving real community, real conversations, and a place that elevates you… you should absolutely be here.

It’s different. And people feel it the moment they walk in.

Welcome to pop in for a tour and a coffee anytime, just drop us a message 🙂

Introducing MoW member, David Newman, founder of Firenze.

Following the exit of his first FinTech business, David has set an ambitious target of a £7 billion loan book within seven years for his latest FinTech venture.

You’ll often find David at MOW on Mondays or Tuesdays (yes, he’s a fan of cake day!). Otherwise, you can reach him via Linkedin or email for a chat about lending, start-ups, or anything in between.

Read more about David in our member’s directory, the ‘Who’s Who’, or listen to his MoW Unplugged podcast (available via the link in our bio).

We sat down with MoW member and all-round AI expert, Rob Balderstone and asked “Hey Rob, where should people even start with AI? ChatGPT? Gemini? Claude?”

It’s clear that there are tonnes of people out there who want to benefit from AI, but haven’t summoned the courage or the patience to just start. If that’s you - check out this video!

It’s the first in our “AI Demystified” series, helping you to take your first (and second, and third, and fourth) steps into the world of AI. Safely, and sensibly.

Rob has made no secret of his (slightly unhealthy) obsession with the latest AI tools and tricks, and that’s led to him becoming the unofficial “AI guy” at Ministry of Work (not to mention amongst friends and family too 🤣). So, we decided that we could do something about the lack of support for AI newbies.

Let us know if you have any questions in the comments - or if you need help on AI, we can put you in touch with Rob!

Yesterday our founder, Eddie, spent a bit of time with one of our MoW members.

She travels in from Glossop every week, a round trip of 50 miles, not because it’s convenient, but because she feels something here that she can’t get anywhere else.

This morning she sent Eddie this message saying that a small conversation they had had opened her mind to what’s possible.

That, that right there is why we built Ministry of Work.

It isn’t about a desk or the coffee and we’ve never wanted it to be “another workspace.”

But a place where founders and leaders walk away thinking bigger, feeling lighter, and remembering why they started in the first place.

And moments like that, the ones no one sees (except when we screenshot it and share it on here, obvs 😂) make every bit of this worth it.

If you’re a founder or leader in Manchester, and you’re craving real community, real conversations, and a place that elevates you… you should absolutely be here.

It’s different. And people feel it the moment they walk in.

One of the greatest privileges of building things is spotting potential… and then backing it.

Dan Brown has been our Studio Manager at MoW since 2024, helping capture amazing podcasts and creating endless top quality leadership content.

But now he’s creating something new - a venture we’re calling Renowned. Where he’ll be helping business leaders become renowned in their niche through amazing video-first content, made easy.

This time, Dan’s been given a blank canvas. No strict brief, no playbook - just the challenge to go and make something exceptional, with the security of knowing we’ve got his back.

This one’s very much Dan’s idea, Dan’s passion and it’s totally his to lead.

We believe in Dan. His creativity, his instincts, and his ability to grow into this next chapter.

Anyone who’s met Dan will believe in Dan too.

We can’t wait to see where this journey takes him (and, by proxy, us too!).

If you’re interested in following the journey of Renowned (and seeing someone step into their potential in real time), give Dan a follow on LinkedIn and watch what he does next.

Big things ahead, Dan.

You’ve got this, mate.

👊

P.S - Oh, and the studio is very much still open for business by the way. So please do get in touch if you’re looking for help creating a podcast!

Are you a founder/entrepreneur or business leader living locally?

Maybe you’re working from home - or maybe you’ve already got an office space but maybe you’d benefit from a ‘third space’ away from the distractions of home and the interruptions of the office?

We are Manchester’s only exclusive ‘work club’ and we’re home to over 50 amazing businesses.

Think premium workspace meets private member’s club.

A space where you’re only ever a desk away from someone else who’s a few steps ahead of you on the journey.

So, whether it’s a quick gut-check on an idea, a sounding board during a wobble, or just sharing what didn’t work (and there’s a LOT), you’re surrounded by others who ‘get it’.

Proximity to people who’ve walked the path, made the mistakes, and have proper lessons to share.

And the best bit? We’re conveniently located just outside the city centre with free parking (just off the East Lancs and close to the motorway), with business leaders travelling in from all across Greater Manchester.

Want to learn more? Drop us a DM and we’d be happy to show you around and grab a coffee 🙂

Membership won’t be for everyone. It isn’t intended to be.

We’re introducing a bit of a suitability criteria — not to make it fancy, but to keep the community strong and focused.

This is about quality over quantity, and protecting the magic we’ve already built.

So, if you’re in or around Manchester and fancy being part of something a little more exclusive, where our sole goal will be to help your business grow? DM us.
