During National Inclusion Week, we’re highlighting what our FAIR values mean in practice.

At Heidelberg Materials UK, FAIR stands for Fairness, Awareness, Inclusion and Respect. Our Words Matter campaign focuses on how everyday conversations, including banter, can affect people at work.

By considering both intent and impact, we can communicate in a way that supports respect, inclusion and effective teamwork.

Creating a FAIR workplace is a shared responsibility and an important part of how we work together.

We’re pleased to be partnering with New Civil Engineer for an upcoming webinar exploring the role of carbon capture in the future of cement and construction.

Our expert panellist, Nina Cardinal will help unpack an important question for the industry: What does carbon capture mean for the CO₂ content of near-zero cement?

Together, we’ll examine how carbon capture technology is influencing cement’s manufacturing footprint, carbon accounting and the measurement of embodied carbon.

Whether you’re involved in specification, design, construction or sustainability, this session will provide valuable insights into one of the industry’s most significant decarbonisation technologies.

It’s another UK first! This time we’re supplying an innovative lower carbon concrete solution to form the basement floors of the redevelopment of 33-35 Piccadilly, owned by The Crown Estate.

It’s the first time our evoBuild low carbon concrete containing both evoBuild low carbon cement – part of our range of carbon captured cements – and evoBuild low carbon GGBS has been used in the UK.

Working with Realtime Civil Engineering for Kier Group, we developed the low carbon concrete to help meet the project’s sustainability goals while also enhancing durability 💪.

We’ve expanded our recycling capabilities in Leeds with a new construction, demolition and excavation (CD&E) waste recycling facility♻️

The site accepts a wide range of materials such as bricks, concrete and soil, and has the capacity to process around 250,000 tonnes a year. It will divert waste materials away from landfill and turn it into recycled products for use in construction projects.

The investment is part of our ongoing commitment to conserve natural resources and support the circular economy, with more facilities like this planned in the coming months.
