After a well-deserved break (and a proper step away from my inbox!), I’m back at my desk, and feeling ready to get stuck back in.

I know I have been a little quiet on here lately. Between supporting clients, running the business, and working on some exciting new tools behind the scenes, it’s been full on. So the break came at exactly the right time.

Now, with a fresh pair of eyes (and a slightly less frazzled brain), I’m putting the finishing touches to a few new things I’ve been building, designed to make life a whole lot easier for the consultants and business owners I support.

I’ll be sharing more very soon… but for now, it’s lovely to be back.

Proud mum moment 💛

My daughter finished school today for the summer holidays, and on the drive home we were chatting about her plans with friends.

I asked if they were hoping to catch up over the summer, you know, hang out, have some fun, make the most of the sunshine.

Without missing a beat, she proudly pulled out her phone and said, “Actually, I’ve created us a shared calendar.”

She’d colour-coded it by availability, added emoji keys for who’s free when, and mapped out their summer plans like a seasoned coordinator.

Honestly, the organisation, the initiative, the absolute clarity of it all – she’s 12!

I’m now seriously wondering if I need to create an apprenticeship scheme for when she finishes school. Could this be the start of a succession plan? 😂

She’s definitely her mother’s daughter. Loves a system. Loves a plan. Loves bringing people together.

This one line has made my week: "Excited to get started (and have a chance to actually do the things I'm good at!!!)" It landed in my inbox just after I’d sent over a new client their contract, and I couldn’t stop smiling. This is exactly why we do what we do.

We work with brilliant people, experts in their field, who are growing, expanding, and doing incredible things. But that growth often comes with a mountain of back office operations, clunky systems that no longer serve them, and hours lost every week to things that aren’t really where their time should be spent.

So when someone says this, with such relief and excitement, it reminds me that the work we do behind the scenes really does make a difference. And that’s the best feeling.

🎉 Jigsaw Virtual Assistance turns 6! 🎉

Today we celebrate six years in business, and what a journey it’s been.

What started as just me, offering traditional VA support, has evolved into a small but perfectly formed team of dedicated professionals, each bringing their own skills to the table.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of supporting a diverse range of clients, some for a season, others who’ve stayed with us for 5+ years. As their businesses have grown and evolved, so have we, expanding our team to meet their changing needs and ensuring we always remain the safe pair of hands they can rely on.

One of the things we love most about what we do is spotting where we can add more value. Recently, we’ve noticed a consistent need among our clients for support around sales strategy and funnel implementation. So, we’re currently undertaking specialist training to confidently expand our service offering in this area — watch this space! 👀

I started my day with a bit of yoga before the school run, then took the dog for a long walk through the woods — surrounded by trees, birdsong, and a bit of peace and quiet.
It’s such a bonus having all this on my doorstep, and it really helps me start the day in a better headspace.

That said, the thing that really sets me up for a productive day isn’t quite as scenic...

It’s writing tomorrow’s to-do list before I log off.
Whether I’m finishing up midweek or wrapping up for the weekend, getting everything out of my head and into Trello (with a few helpful automations) makes a huge difference.

It means I can start the next day with a clear plan, no faffing — which is especially important when managing multiple clients with different needs and priorities.

“So what is it you actually do?”

It’s a question I get asked a lot, and honestly, it’s a tricky one to answer in a neat little sentence. Because the truth is, no two weeks (or clients!) are the same.

This week alone has been a real mix, the kind of variety I love, and the kind of support that keeps our clients moving forward.

✨ New SOPs documented
✨ Managed a major business project, transferring our LMS to a new provider (lots of moving parts, lots of spinning plates, lots of communication)
✨ Made sure our learners and clients didn’t feel a wobble during the transition process
✨ Chased outstanding invoices and reconciled accounts
✨ Set a new client up on their new accounting software
✨ Created an infographic to support a client’s new course and researched key stats to back up their content
✨ Held calls with associates to check in on delivery and make sure they’re on track
✨ Booked face-to-face sessions for client training
✨ Onboarded a new associate for one of our clients
✨ Jumped on a business update call to review marketing performance and identify new opportunities
✨ Reviewed contracts and looked at how to shape future business growth

All that, and still kept things running smoothly behind the scenes.

Here’s the thing: if you’re doing all of this in your business… who’s doing the delivery? Who’s driving the growth?

Maybe it’s time to hand some of those moving parts over, and focus on the bits only you can do.
