The Aspire Guide to Morocco 🍂

Autumn is in full swing, and Marrakech is at its most agreeable. October brings warm days, soft light and evenings made for rooftops.

Begin in the medina. Then follow the road south for an hour, into the foothills of the Atlas Mountains.

Here sits Kasbah Tamadot, Sir Richard Branson’s Moroccan retreat. The name means soft breeze in Berber, and the view runs all the way to Mount Toubkal.

Stay in a Berber tent or a private riad. Spend the morning on a mountain trail and the afternoon in the hammam.

The Aspiration Group recommends both. The city for its energy, the mountains for the quiet that follows.

🌇 Dubai, together.

Last week, the whole team behind came together in Dubai. Three days of shared time, fresh perspectives and plenty of inspiring conversations.

Our days were spent inside some of the city’s most remarkable hotels, discovering the spaces, service and small touches that make each one so special.

Great travel and great events both begin with a team that knows each other well. We came home sharper, closer and ready for what’s ahead.

Where the Old Town of Dubrovnik becomes the venue. 🌊

A corporate programme set within the city walls, where every setting belonged to our guests alone.

Tables laid above the sea as the sun went down. Then dinner beneath the stone arches of Gradska Kavana Arsenal, a former 13th century shipyard with the Old Port just beyond the tables.

The best corporate social events rarely feel like events. They feel as though a city has opened its doors for one private evening.

⛷️ Winter at The Lodge, Verbier.

Nine bedrooms. A returning piste at the back door. Sir Richard Branson’s mountain retreat sits at 1,500 metres in the Valais, and it runs on a simple idea. Ski all day, then come home to a house rather than a hotel. An indoor pool. Hot tubs inside and out. A team that takes care of everything in between.

Take the whole chalet with family and friends, or a single room during selected weeks of the season.
Winter 2026/27 is taking shape at The Aspiration Group, and Verbier is where we would start.

An October weekend in London 🍂

October suits London. The parks turn gold, the light softens by late afternoon, and the city settles back into its own rhythm after summer. It is a month for long walks, longer lunches and evenings spent indoors.

It is also when the cultural season returns. Painting the French Riviera has just opened at the Royal Academy, with Renoir and Love a short walk away at the National Gallery. Both run until the end of January. In between, a walk through Regent’s Park while the leaves are turning.

Base it all at The London Edition, a row of Georgian townhouses on Berners Street in Fitzrovia, Ian Schrager and Marriott’s take on a design hotel. Berners Tavern sits just off the lobby, and the Punch Room is a proper way to end a ccosy day in London.

🇯🇵 Site Visit Diaries: Japan, beyond the familiar route.

Omri from The Aspiration Group recently returned from Japan, hosted by Experius DMC with Fukui and Fukuoka at the heart of the journey.

The days in between the cities belonged to the makers: a blacksmith drawing a blade from glowing steel, paper formed by hand and brushed flat to dry, a calligrapher at work with brush and ink.

His highlight was Daihonzan Eiheiji, a Zen temple founded in 1244 and still a working monastery. One of the monks who lives and trains there led the visit, including parts of the temple that are closed to the public.

The same care carried through to the table: Japanese cuisine at its most precise, with every detail considered.

The stays: Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo / マンダリン オリエンタル 東京, ESHIKOTO, and ザ・ペニンシュラ東京.

Familiar names at either end, and something far less expected in between. That is the Japan we like to plan.

Off the map, yet closer than you think. 🌊

An hour outside Tangier, the roads quieten and the pace changes entirely, though you are never actually far from home. La Fiermontina Ocean sits on a stretch of Morocco's Atlantic coast that most people never see, built by a family who spent years restoring historic properties in southern Italy before bringing that same instinct here.

Nothing is meant to compete with the view. The villas face the ocean directly, and a short drive away, a cluster of restored village houses holds the spa and a slower, more local rhythm entirely.

Luxury escape in the Atlantic coast of Morocco

Breakfast in bed, Lake Como style. 🥐

The kind of morning that starts with curtains pulled back to Bellagio across the water, before anything else happens. Grand Hotel Tremezzo has been serving this view since 1910, and breakfast arrives the way it always has, unhurried, on a tray, with the lake doing most of the work.

Coffee first. Then the choice of whether to leave the room at all.
