The programme is funded by Public Health Agency and led by CDHN’s Stephanie Houston, Patricia Harte and Eleanor McKenna, along with the Elevate Mentors: Supporting Communities ARC HEALTHY LIVING CENTRE LIMITED, WOMENSTEC and Mid & East Antrim Agewell Partnership

The Community Mentoring and Grants Programme is for groups who are ready to tackle health inequalities using community development approaches. Successful groups will receive a grant of up to Β£5,000 and take part in training and networking opportunities throughout.

This new Learning Zone resource explains how a community development approach differs from traditional case-based social work by providing guidance on how social workers can embed values like social justice, empowerment, collective action, anti-discrimination, and equality in their everyday work.

Take time to individually or as a small team to go through the resource and reflect on what might a community-development approach might look like in your day-to-day practice.

Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council is offering Free Training on Domestic Abuse in venues across the Borough on 25th, 26th and 28th of March.

The Coercive Control Awareness & Response Initiative (CARI) is aimed at raising awareness and providing training on coercive control, a form of abuse that can be difficult to recognize. The training is designed for community workers, youth workers, community workers, teachers, and others to equip them with the knowledge and skills to recognize and respond to coercive control through the Head Shoulders Knees and Toes training programme.
