I’m becoming a bit of a workspace geek… and I’m absolutely fine with that! 😊 I’ve always been a HBR geek, I love their articles and I loved this one because it made so much sense.
The more I learn about how our environment affects the way we think, work and collaborate, the more convinced I am that workspace is one of the few things we can actually control. So why not make it the best it can be?
One point from this article really stood out to me:
“Leaders don’t need to redesign entire offices to support flexibility. They can reserve conference rooms for quiet work during certain hours, establish low-distraction zones, or encourage employees to choose workspaces that match the demands of the task at hand.”
It’s such a simple idea, but it makes perfect sense. Not every task needs the same environment. Sometimes we need collaboration and conversation, other times we need peace and focus.
At HB Workspaces we’ve been thinking about this from day one. Creating spaces where people can work near home, not from home, connect with others when they want to, and have somewhere calm to concentrate when they need to.
I’m always interested in new ideas that help people enjoy work more and be more productive, so if you’ve made changes to your workspace that have really worked, I’d love to hear about them.
