A thirteen-year-old Stoves freestanding Cooker in Tarvin.
I got a call out to this Stoves Cooker where the grill had stopped heating. After looking at the grill element, I quickly identified the problem: the grill element was split.
After replacing the element, I tested the top oven and grill, which were working perfectly.

This is the first time I've been called out to repair a 'Sharps' built in oven. It is actually a 'Beko' made oven with the 'Sharps' brand name on it.
The fan oven had stopped heating, the fan motor was spinning, but the oven stayed cold. I replaced the fan element, tested to 200oC, and the repair was complete.

This CDA oven had a faulty function switch.
After checking the model number, unfortunately, the switch was no longer available from the manufacturer.
The rest of the oven was in good condition, door hinges, fan motor and element all looked perfect.
The grill element looked like it hadn't been used in a long time. I offered the customer the option of rewiring the oven so it worked just as a fan oven. This option would save the customer from having to buy a new oven and make the oven more reliable.
I rewired the thermostat with a fan switch. The oven now switches on from the temperature control k**b.
I tested the oven up to operating temperature and carried out an electrical safety test.

This oven was in immaculate condition despite its age.
I can usually source the parts for old Neff, Bosch and Seimens ovens. These manufacturers normally stock the parts for at least 15 years.

This is a 'Kenwood' freestanding range cooker, the same cooker comes as a 'Delonghi' brand range Cooker.
The customer called saying the main fan oven was totally dead, no lights, fan or heat.
Using steel terminals with a plastic control switch is a recipe for disaster. The steel terminals become loose after a couple of year, this causes the connection to begin to spark and generates a lot of heat. Eventually the plastic melts and the terminal fails.
To carry out a successful repair you need to replace all the terminals with higher temperature rated 'Nickle silver' terminals.

This ten year old Stoves range Cooker had a faulty grill element. The bars had become warped and were catching the grill pan.
I replaced the element and added some extra fixings to secure the grill element in place.
