The Game of Thrones Studio Tour opened this week at Bainbridge, NI. €48 million investment (£41 million), reputedly anticipating 600,000 visitors annually. The entrance fee of £39.50 for an adult makes it by far the most expensive visitor attraction to visit in the island of Ireland (although comparable with the Warner Bros’ Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour in London, which charges £49.50 for an adult). Wishing Linen Mill Studios the best of luck, a huge commitment and one that is likely to need the international tourist market to Ireland to recover rapidly if it is to hit its targets.

On Friday, February 4, the world’s first studio tour dedicated to HBO’s smash hit Game of Thrones opens near Banbridge, Co Down.
