🍍 SYLVAC, ANYONE? 🐰🐶

Our sale is TODAY from 10am and there’s plenty to get excited about — including a fabulous selection of SylvaC pottery! ✨

From a charming model of an armchair 🪑 to a wonderfully whimsical pineapple preserve pot 🍍, these pieces show just how inventive SylvaC could be. And yes… they really did make all sorts of things!

A few SylvaC facts to impress your fellow bidders with:
🏺 SylvaC was founded in 1894 by William Copestake and William Shaw.
🐕 The company became famous for its animal figures, particularly its snub-nosed rabbits and dogs, but its range stretched to vases, kitchenalia, face pots, money boxes and plenty of novelty pieces.
🎨 The familiar matt green and beige finishes are classic SylvaC, while gloss glazes were introduced in 1970.
🧱 SylvaC earthenware was made from a mixture of materials including Cornish stone and china clay, French flint, and ball clay from Devon/Dorset.
🍍 And that pineapple preserve pot? Proof that even your jam jar could have a little ceramic personality!

🐦✨ Lot 54 – An Early 20th Century Brass Birdcage with Arched Top ✨🐦

A real tweet treat! 🕊️

Lot 54 is a beautifully decorative brass birdcage, featuring an elegant arched top, glazed lower panels, brass framework and original fittings that is sure to ruffle a few feathers in the bidding! 🐤💛

Decorative brass birdcages like this became particularly popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, when ornate cages reflected the fashion for displaying exotic birds such as canaries and finches in the home. By the early 20th century, these cages had evolved into beautifully crafted decorative objects, often combining practicality with elegant architectural design. Today, they’re highly sought after as statement decor, planters or eye-catching display pieces.

This is one lot that’s sure to have bidders flocking to it… so don’t let this one fly away! 🪶😉
