Martley Applefest is now an annual addition to the calendar held at The Chantry School. The whole community is welcome to attend this “appletastic” event on Saturday 15th October between 11am - 3pm!

The Farmers Market and Craft area has been expanded this year, complemented by a project led by Victoria Westaway, artist and sculptor and RHS Gold medal winner, who has been invited to create a group of large willow apples. Come along and participate in a unique project!

There will be lots of FREE apple based activities for the whole family, an apple themed music ensemble performed by local schools and a drama performance created and performed by The Chantry School pupils to promote the mighty apple.
A pig roast and various stalls providing refreshments will be available throughout the day. Please note there will be a cost for food and drink.

Just a reminder that Tenbury Town Council has arranged a consultation meeting on Thursday 19th February between 1pm – 3pm at The Regal Community Centre for any young person who would like to be involved in the future developments of the existing skate park on the Palmers Meadow in Tenbury Wells.

Background information:
The skate park was originally developed in 2001 when the half pipe, which was surplus to requirements in Malvern was acquired and positioned on the Burgage. In 2004 a new area of tarmac was laid on Palmers Meadow and the half pipe was moved to its existing site. This scheme was funded by MHDC, with the influence of a community group – “Wheels in Motion” facilitated by Café 27 staff, volunteers and the local policing team. The facility was further enhanced in 2009 with funding from DABID, a fund managed by Worcestershire County Council.

It is now anticipated that an application to secure significant funding to redevelop the footprint of the area, including additional equipment and lighting will be completed very soon, facilitated by Caroline Palethorpe.

It is very important that young people have a strong voice in this exercise and I will be attending this meeting to ensure this happens.

Please promote to any young person to ensure a good turnout on Thursday 19th February between 1pm – 3pm at The Regal Community Centre. Light refreshments will be laid on.

Wow that was a busy weekend... The Chantry School 50th Year Celebration Evening on Friday went really well with past students and teachers catching up on old times. The atmosphere was wonderful and I have received lots of positive comments throughout the weekend so I must have done something right!! Here's to the next 50! Saturday was the fourth Applefest also at the school and with fabulous weather and the additional of Scrummy Stuff Farmers Market, we attracted huge crowds this year. Hope to be coordinating this community event next year!!!
