In the Philippines a lot of fruit and veg is considerably more expensive than meat.
For example, at the supermarket this week I could purchase:
🍗 1kg of chicken breast for ~200pesos / £3
🍓 400g strawberries was ~350pesos / £5
LB for £ the strawberries were 4 times more expensive!
And they were local strawberries, imported ones were even more.
➡️ In a country with millions considered low earners, how do residents afford to make healthy, more sustainable choices?
🍟 Fast food is so dangerously cheap, and fruit and vegetables almost unaffordable.
💚 What are the options? How are other countries managing this?
