Treatment for bird mites! Not often are we called out for these but this was a particularly heavy infestation.

Mites have been emanating from two nesting sites within this property. Now that the birds have fledged (sparrows), treatment of the nests and proofing has also been carried out.

A fumigation and residual insecticidal treatment of all rooms within this property was performed.

A two part treatment, seeing an initial instantaneous reduction in their presence.

This parasitic insect is small and difficult to detect, though their presence has now been controlled and long term preventative measures have been taken for this to not occur again.

We do a 360 degree analysis of infestations and control them at their root cause no matter the pest!

A HUGE rat infestation! A heavy rat infestation that has manifested over many years, no root cause found by other companies until today. Here we see evidence of their presence: Droppings, smear marks, runs, foot prints, and gnawing. 🐀

Rats were found to be emanating from the external drain chamber, burrowing underneath the foundations of the house and into the cavity walls. From here, they’ve made their way into the loft.

Activity was evident all over the home and a riddance treatment has ensued.

An eventual loft clearance will be required once the infestation is under control.

Proofing and preventative measures will be taken to stop any future infestations from occurring. ✅

Another job done properly with thorough inspections conducted around the entirety of the property! A 360 degree approach, leaving no stones unturned.

It is crucial that all potential areas of ingress are considered, especially that pertaining to drainage systems.

WASPS! It’s that time of year again.

We love wasps, bumble bees and honey bees alike.

Wasps certainly have their place within our ecosystems, I understand the nuances of their biology and why not all nests need to be treated. We approach each nest with such an attitude, as no two nests are ever the same.

We generally only treat nests that pose a hazard to health, or are in a nuisance area and likely to cause harm.

Squirrel trapping completed for a client. These are very destructive creatures and need to be removed before proofing is completed. These are some of the methods we use. Doc 200 and WCS tube traps to ensure they’re dispatched in a humane manner.

We’ve caught 6 from this property in total. Damage of external timbers will be proofed to ensure this doesn’t occur again. A 360 degree approach.

We had the pleasure of cleaning up after nearly a decade of feral pigeon fouling under these panels.

The pigeons, over time, had compromised the wiring causing the solar panels to arc onto the roof below - this caused significant leaks and damage to the internal building.

This could’ve been avoided if the panels were properly proofed in the first instance. Suffice to say, the old attempt of solar proofing has now been removed; this was completely ineffective, causing harm and unnecessary suffering to the birds too.

About 40 bags of fouling were removed. Operating under GL41 we got the job done.

As professional pest controllers, we must strive to ensure what we do is legal, effective, and responsible. We set the standard, and I’m happy on this occasion we were part of the solution! 😄

⚠️ Throwback to this absolute monster of a wasp nest treated a couple of seasons ago! Wasps are so fascinating, natures architects - no two nests are ever the same. It’s what keeps my job extremely interesting.

Wasps will soon be making their presence known as their numbers naturally increase. Queens are/have started their primary nests, the very beginnings of the eventual colony.

Wasps of course have a huge benefit to the eco system, so we only tend to destroy those that pose a direct risk to public heath and business.

It’s important to recognise the signs of having a wasp nest, thus mitigating the risk of being stung and the nest becoming more active as time goes on. If you’re unsure, then give Raptor a call.
