If you work for a small or medium charity, please keep reading as this might matter more than you think 👀
Following on from our post yesterday about the new SORP guidance, here’s why it’s such a big shift for the sector.
These changes aren’t just about compliance or accounting. They mark a clear move towards charities being expected to explain in plain terms the difference their work is making, how decisions are being made, and how their impact is understood and evidenced.
For many smaller organisations, this can feel overwhelming. So many are already stretched, delivering amazing work but with limited time, funding and capacity. Being asked to report more clearly on impact, sustainability and governance can feel like yet another hoop to jump through.
But there’s also an opportunity here and it’s one that SRB feel really passionate about.
Charities that can clearly show their impact are better placed to secure funding, build trust and learn from what’s working. Done well, this doesn’t have to mean more headaches and paperwork.
If you work in or alongside the charity sector, now is the time to start thinking about how you’ll evidence impact in a way that’s proportionate, practical and genuinely useful. And with the right tools it can be really simple and effective.
