Getting Out on Site! 👷‍♀️👷‍♂️

At Andrew Goddard Associates CDM 2015 Consultants, we believe that understanding construction goes beyond the office walls.

Today, our office administration team swapped their desks for hi-vis and hard hats, heading out to one of our live construction sites. The visit gave them valuable insight into on-site practices, safety protocols, and the realities of project delivery — bringing to life how their hard work behind the scenes contributes to making these projects a success.

It’s been a great opportunity to connect the dots between the planning and the practical, and to remind us all that every role plays an important part in building safer, better sites.

🦺 World Mental Health Day 2025: Building Safer Sites Starts with Supporting Minds 💚

Today is World Mental Health Day — a timely reminder that safety in construction isn’t just about physical hazards, PPE, or compliance with CDM 2015. It’s also about protecting the mental wellbeing of everyone involved in our projects.

As a CDM Consultant, my focus is often on design risk management, safety planning, and ensuring legal compliance. But over the years, I’ve learned that even the best safety systems mean little if we overlook the pressures people face on site and in design offices.

Tight deadlines, long hours, and high-risk environments can quietly wear people down. We talk a lot about preventing falls from height — but we also need to talk about preventing the mental falls that no one can see.

💬 Let’s keep normalising conversations about mental health in construction.

🤝 Let’s check in on colleagues as often as we check site conditions.

🏗️ Because a truly safe project is one where every individual feels supported — body and mind.

If we can design out physical risks, we can design out stigma too.
