🏭 National Manufacturing Day 2026 - inspiring the next generation.
Today, we opened the doors of Peerless Plastics and Coatings to five schools and around 190 young people as part of National Manufacturing Day 2026.
It was fantastic to welcome students of different ages into our facility and give them a first-hand look at what modern manufacturing is really about.
They got to see our machinery and processes in action and discover how we turn raw materials and ideas into real-world products – from specialist hard coatings and PolyGuard® polycarbonate, to CNC machining, injection moulding, digital printing, finishing and assembly.
There were plenty of questions, plenty of curiosity and, hopefully, a few moments that made them think:
“I could see myself doing this.”
Because manufacturing isn't just about machines.
It's about people, engineering, technology, creativity, problem-solving and skills. It's an industry with an enormous range of career opportunities – many of which young people may not even realise exist.
That's why days like Make UK's National Manufacturing Day are so important.
By opening our doors, sharing what we do and letting the next generation see manufacturing up close, we can help spark curiosity, challenge perceptions and inspire future careers.
A huge thank you to the five schools, teachers and around 190 students who visited us today, Tracy for organising it all, Breckland Council for their involvement and finally to the entire Peerless team who helped make the day such a success.
Today we showed them how we manufacture.
Tomorrow, they could be the ones shaping what comes next.
