What an incredible experience at LUSO 2024!

From powerful discussions on 50 years of Portuguese transformation to inspiring sessions on culture, identity, and the future of technology and research, this event was truly enriching.

It was an honor to hear from Joana Gaspar, Executive Board Member of AICEP (Agency for Investment and External Commerce of Portugal), and Professor Dr. Ana Paiva, the Portuguese Secretary of State for Science. These esteemed leaders, along with a top list of highly accomplished professionals in science, research, and academia, elevated the discussions and made the event even more impactful.
Particularly enjoyed the "Cultura e Identidade Portuguesa" panel and the deep dive into how our heritage continues to shape global innovation. The research pitch competition showed just how much creativity and talent our community holds.

The energy in the room during the networking sessions was amazing—so many new connections and potential collaborations!

Big thanks to all the speakers, panelists, and attendees for making this event a huge success, and a huge thank you to Diogo Martins and all the outgoing PARSUK executive committee for their amazing work over the past years. Here's to more moments of collaboration and building stronger bridges between Portugal, the UK and the world!

On Thursday, October 17th., The Portuguese Offer, International Trade Exchange CEO, Joe Barreto, signed a long-awaited MOU with the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, further strengthening the bond between the two organisations. While the MOU is a significant achievement, the main focus was on exchanging ideas and exploring future collaboration opportunities to enhance the potential for the companies they both represented.

It was a wonderful opportunity to engage in future-oriented discussions with Koyas Miah, International Trade Manager at the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, with plenty of scope to enhance both quality and quantity of trade between Portugal and the county with the biggest port in the UK. The event, graciously hosted by the Portuguese Embassy, was attended by Fernando Sousa, the Social Affairs Attaché. Carla Barreto and João Noronha, CLO and CIC to The Portuguese Offer, were also present.

🌟 Reflecting on a Remarkable Visit to Fundão, Vale de Prazeres, Sabugal, and Vale de Espinho 🌟

We are thrilled to share highlights from our recent two-day visit to the beautiful regions of Fundão, Vale de Prazeres, Sabugal, and Vale de Espinho. The hospitality and warmth we received were truly heartwarming, and we are grateful for the honors bestowed upon us.

A special thanks to our partner, the Câmara do Comércio das Beiras, for facilitating highly productive business meetings and for hosting us at their impressive new headquarters. We had the privilege of engaging with the Mayor of Sabugal, Vale de Espinho, and a range of local and international businesses. Our discussions with Secretary of State Jose Cesario were particularly insightful, providing valuable perspectives to benefit both investors and the region.

The collaborative spirit and forward-thinking discussions have set the stage for promising developments. We are now eagerly looking forward to our upcoming meetings in the north of the country in a few days.

I am thrilled to share that I, Joe Barreto, CEO of The Portuguese Offer - International Trade Exchange (TPO-ITE), along with Carla Barreto, our esteemed CLO and Deputy Mayor of Thetford, Norfolk, recently had the honour of visiting the British Embassy in Lisbon.

We engaged in fruitful partnership discussions about the future of trade and relations between both nations. A heartfelt thank you to both our gracious hosts, Sofia Carvalhais, Senior Trade Adviser – Emerging Tech & Cyber Lead, and Ana Cristina Abreu, Country Director Portugal from the Trade and Investment Department of the British Embassy in Lisbon.

It was a pleasure to meet with our new Portuguese Offer partner as we signed a new MOU with Rui Almeida, Chair of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce 🇬🇧🇵🇹

Hosted at the Portuguese Consulate on Wednesday in London, the signing was attended by Luís Leandro da Silva, Consul General in London and Pedro Patricio, aicep Portugal Global Director to the UK and Commercial and Economic Counsellor to the Portuguese Embassy.
