CATTLE
Sale every Thursday to commence at 1:30pm approx.
• 59 Prime Heifers sold to 475.5ppk or £3366.76 and averaged 417.6ppk.
• 33 Prime Steers sold to 439.5ppk or £3148.18 and averaged 389.5ppk.
• 33 Young Bulls sold to 417.5ppk or £2972.60 and averaged 340.4ppk.
• 1 OTM steer sold to 385.5ppk or £2933.66 and averaged 385.5ppk.
• 4 Cull Cow and stock bulls sold to 279.5ppk or £2062.
Clean Cattle – Slightly larger numbers and a very good trade but again a tremendous amount of
weight, only 20 cattle weighed less than 600ppk. 53 cattle made above 400ppk with 22 making above
440ppk. only 10 failed to reach 360ppk.

SHEEP
Sale every Thursday to commence at 8am
• 1447 Prime Lambs sold to £229.50 or 444ppk and averaged £164 or 349ppk (SQQ 347ppk).
• 320 Cull Ewes and Tups sold to £288 and averaged £164.
Prime Lambs – a handful less lambs forward this week but still a very good trade. Weight is key with
buyers keen to purchase to fill orders. The handy weighed good, shaped lambs were also keenly bid
for while the commercial 38-40kg lambs at times were hard to places but still selling well.
Overall, still a competitive trade with an average of 347 SQQ and an average of 349ppk.
Top price of the day went to F Wardell & Son, Westow with a 68kg Texel lamb selling to £229.50 to
AR Livestock Services, Accrington.
Topping the pence per kilo was a single 46kg Beltex lamb from AJ Lancaster, Easingwold making
444ppk which sold to N Bramall & Son, Oxspring.

Cull Ewes
An increased entry of 320 ewes and Tups with less meat on offer this week. the heavy meated ewes
were best to sell with buyer very keen. All ewes selling away very well with demand from all buyers
present.
Numbers of ewes required each week with very competitive prices can be achieved.
Top price of the day was £288 for a Texel tup from CD & EJ Mandale, Cold Kirby. A pair of Texel tups
from E Stonehouse & Son were close behind at £282. A quality Blue Texel ewe from SJS Livestock sold
to £281. Suffolk ewes peaked at £218 for C Wentworth & Sons. Heavy Fit Mule ewes made £186 for
Thimbleby Farms.
PIGS
Sale every Thursday to commence at 10am
• 41 Prime Pigs sold to 178ppk or £214 and averaged 101ppk or £120.
• 51 Sows and Boars sold to 31ppk or £101 and averaged 25ppk or £61.
Prime Pigs – A light show of pigs forward with trade better due to lack of numbers again with a varied
selection forward. The well finished gilts sold to a blistering trade and more required to for fill the
current demand.

Top price of the day went Matthew Keel, Thirsk who sold a 130kg gilt to £214 or 165ppk to Buffalo
Produce. Top per kilo came from Peter Medd, Winston with a pair of 111kg gilt making 178ppk or £197
also to Buffalo Produce.
