As a Utility Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in identifying, mapping, and recording underground and above-ground utilities. Your work will be essential for a wide range of projects, ensuring safety, preventing damage, and contributing to the efficient development and maintenance of infrastructure.
What you'll be doing:
Conducting site surveys to locate and identify various utilities, including gas, water, electricity, telecommunications, and drainage.
Utilising a range of surveying techniques and equipment, such as electromagnetic locators (EML), ground penetrating radar (GPR), and GPS technology.
Accurately recording survey data, measurements, and observations in accordance with industry standards and project specifications.
Producing clear and concise survey reports and drawings, often utilising CAD software.
Liaising effectively with clients and contractors.
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Maintaining and calibrating surveying equipment.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience as a Utility Surveyor or a related surveying role.
Proficiency in using utility detection equipment (EML, GPR).
A strong understanding of utility plans and records.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Competent in data collection and processing.
Good IT skills, including experience with surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
CAD experience is advantageous.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A full UK driving license.
