What does it take to get one chocolate bar into a vending machine?

Most people think it arrives in a van, gets put into a machine... and that's the end of the story.

It isn't.

Before someone taps their card at 10:30 on a Tuesday morning, that chocolate bar may already have been forecast weeks in advance, delivered on one of twelve thousand products arriving at our warehouse, checked, rotated, loaded onto a service van before dawn and carefully managed to ensure it's fresh, available and exactly where it needs to be.

Our warehouse isn't a place where products sit.

As Trevor Marshall likes to say...

"People think we store stock. We don't. The warehouse is simply the vehicle that moves and manages stock from supply to sale."

That single chocolate bar is just one snapshot in a process that never stops.

We've written a new feature article that takes you behind the scenes of H2O Vend and follows the journey of a chocolate bar from supplier to workplace.

It isn't really about chocolate.

It's about forecasting, logistics, teamwork, technology and hundreds of small decisions made every day so our customers never have to think about any of it.

A few days ago, while writing our latest article, we realised something.

That single sentence sums up almost 30 years of H2O Vend.

We've never wanted to be known simply for supplying vending machines, coffee machines or water coolers.

We've wanted to be remembered.

✔️ Remembered because we fix problems quickly.

✔️ Remembered because our operators know customers by name.

✔️ Remembered because our engineers genuinely care.

✔️ Remembered because we believe service should never stop once the machine has been installed.

Over the coming months, we're going to start sharing more of what we've learnt over three decades in business.

Not sales pitches.

Not adverts.

Just honest insights.

The mistakes we've seen.

The lessons we've learnt.

The myths we'd love to change.

And the philosophy that has shaped who we are today.

BREAKING: Could Energy Drinks Disappear From Workplace Vending Machines?

It's a proposal that's received very little mainstream attention... but if approved, from April 2027 energy drinks could be banned from ALL vending machines in England – even those located in factories, warehouses, offices and adult-only workplaces.

That means no Monster, Red Bull, Rockstar or similar drinks from workplace vending machines, regardless of whether children have access or not.

Is this the right approach to protecting young people... or a one-size-fits-all policy that unfairly impacts responsible workplaces?
