The company that builds Claude is hiring a human PA in London.

I think that’s brilliant news.

AI is an amazing tool and I use it every single day. It handles the quick stuff so I have more time for the thinking.

What it can’t do is know your business, your clients and your priorities the way a person can.

September was a busy one!

Before every new quarter I take some time to look back over the previous one.

This is something that the wonderful taught me, it’s a habit that’s stuck and is something I really enjoy doing!

So for Q3 - Jul-Sept

What went well
6 new clients, a real mix of big and small, retainers and project based work. Each one of the has made this quarter 💕

What I’d change
My diary has filled up fast. Next quarter I want to be more intentional about the work that I’m doing.

What I’m excited about
I’ve got a couple of big networking events that I’m going to with my clients 😍 I can’t wait to get out and about a bit more and meet some new people.

What I want to get better at
Online networking. Connecting more with the online world, so if you’re following come and say hi!

Goal for Q4
To work with a business that needs operational support. That are looking at building systems and having structure behind the scenes. (If you know of anyone struggling with this send them my way! 🙂)

Day in the life of a virtual assistant Friday edition.

A day at home with no plans or client calls booked, means I can blast through lots of work.
With an impromptu trip to the farm shop, where I couldn’t resist the smell of a sausage roll and it’s impossible to walk past the sweet stuff without grabbing a little treat.

A productive day in preparation for a busy next week.

Working hard or hardly working!?

It’s been busy this week and it’s only Wednesday, this is why I love what I do.

It’s very dreary in Cornwall today and I did not want to leave the house this morning, so instead I thought I’d try out a no knead olive bread, just 5 ingredients, it kept me occupied for the morning and it was ready just in time for lunch.

What’s better than warm bread topped with cheese!? 😋

One side goats cheese and balsamic glaze, other with tomato & mozzarella.

So good…a bit too good actually!!!! Fluffy, delicious and super easy to make!

My client is OOO. Here’s what happened in her inbox in the last hour.

✔️ Chased the monthly info I need to keep her business running
✔️ Dug through emails to find something a contractor needed
✔️ Booked in a meeting with one of her clients for when she’s back
✔️ Filed away the routine paperwork
✔️ Flagged the few things only she can answer

This week she isn’t checking her inbox. She’s just... on holiday. And that makes me so happy!

This is why I love what I do as a virtual assistant, it’s not just about the support, but the peace of mind that brings to business owners, knowing they can go away and things are still moving.

Running a business doesn’t mean you have to do every single task yourself. It means building a team, even a small one, that lets you switch off.

Today I made a client an SOP in under a minute. Here’s how…

I open up AI, I use Claude, hold the mic button, and just talk through the steps out loud.

Claude turns it into a document for me. I read it back, tweak anything that needs fixing, and format it to match my client’s branding.

Then I save it. Done.

Now my client has that process written down for good. Anyone on their team can follow it, even if they’ve never done the task before. No more “wait, how did we do this again?”

One less thing living only in someone’s head. One more thing that just works, even when you’re not there.

Got a process you keep explaining over and over? That’s your sign to turn it into an SOP. 👀

This week I took invoicing off my client’s plate.

She’s running her own business but still doing her invoicing herself. It was eating up hours every month, which she should be spending on the work only she can do.

She sent me a quick video showing how she does it, using Xero a platform I’ve never used before now, however picking up new tools fast is part of the job.

I’m writing up a simple guide (SOP) so anyone on her team could pick up this task in the future. Once I mentioned it, she was thrilled, she’d never thought about it!

That’s the real value of working with a virtual assistant who thinks ahead. It’s not just doing the task you hand over. It’s spotting the parts of your business that are quietly draining your time, before you even notice them yourself.
