If you've ever wondered how curved stained glass is made.
First we need to build a rounded former to set the pattern on. The panel is built on this and when complete, soldered. A matching former is then placed on the top and the complete assembly turned over. The original former, which is now on the top, is removed so that this side can now be soldered and then puttied. The process is repeated, to allow the other side to be be puttied. Finally the panel is replaced in its setting and the wooden mouldings re-attached. If you look at the last photograph you will see that the reflection of the lights are 'wobbled' due to the movement in the glass. This door was actually repaired using a modern restoration glass which replicates the original.
