The Society of Cosmetics Scientists (SCS) Programme Launch 🚀

A few weeks ago we kicked off something really exciting, a brand new mentoring programme with the team at SCS at The Royal Society of Chemistry, in London. You might’ve seen me chatting about mentoring on here recently, and honestly, I’ll keep talking about it because the benefits are huge (if you missed those posts, scroll back 👀 they’re worth a look).

Mentoring is one of the smartest ways to develop your people. It’s not just a ‘nice extra’, it’s a powerful tool for knowledge-sharing, career progression and, let’s be honest, talent retention. When done well, it helps you keep hold of those brilliant brains in your business, without endlessly recruiting and retraining.

Think of it as your long game:
✨ Share tacit knowledge that could otherwise walk out the door
✨ Engage and retain your people
✨ Build confidence and capability across the team

Swipe through for a few photos from launch day at RSC HQ in London.
A brilliant day with brilliant people.

Mentoring isn’t simply about giving back — it’s a powerful way to grow your own career.

Forbes reports that mentors are six times more likely to be promoted into bigger roles than those who don’t mentor.
Why? Because mentoring builds strategic thinking, communication skills, and influence — all qualities that position you as a leader.

So if you’re thinking about introducing mentoring into your business, it’s not just a feel-good initiative — it’s a serious development strategy for your people and your future leaders.
