The Zero Su***de Alliance’s free online su***de awareness training is ideal for those who want to learn how to help someone who may be struggling. Available to anyone aged 16 and over, it takes just 30 minutes or so to complete… and you never know when it might be needed. Learn to save a life on the Zero Su***de Alliance website.

Another successful Carers Coffee Morning. 21 Carers attended. Everyone enjoyed the art session painting mugs. Raffle and refreshments. £51 made for group funds. Thanks to Gillian Gaskell for the Halloween Hamper. The winner was Michelle.

The government has published an independent review into the prevalence of and support for mental health conditions, ADHD and autism, led by Professor Peter Fonagy.

Despite headlines in the press, the review found that there is no overdiagnosis of these conditions. Instead, it found that the system is overwhelmed and this is impacting children and young people negatively.

It calls for a different approach, with support available earlier rather than families having to wait for a formal diagnosis before getting help.
