This Saturday into Sunday we are expecting storm Dave to pass through our area. It is forecast to very likely cause disruption and power is expected to be lost in some places with SSE already in Amber status.

If you find yourself without service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of the configuration settings and this will require an engineer to visit to reconfigure it. This will be chargeable and it could take several days before we can get to you. In the first instance power off all of your equipment and leave it for 60 seconds then power it all back on again.

If you have reset your equipment please email us at [email protected] and we can arrange for an engineer to call as soon as we can arrange it. Please note that this will be charged to your account and it may be several days before we can get to you.

Unfortunately we cannot account for the weather or subsequent outages but when they occur we will always do our utmost to resolve them as quickly as we possibly can provided that it is safe for our team to do so.

Storm Bram has been forecast to arrive with us from around 1700 today and will remain with us overnight and into tomorrow. We are being told that we could easily see winds around 60 to 75 mph at ground level and as much as 100 mph over exposed hilltops.

SSE have put themselves on yellow alert for the whole of the North of Scotland for storm force winds.

Due to this, some disruption to the power network is likely and as such this may in turn affect both households and our own network. There may at times be a loss of your broadband service as is often the case when the power network is affected or damaged.

All parts of our network are currently operating as they should be.

SSE managed to restore power to our main network element around 1 am and a large area of our network is now back up and working.

We do still have a lot of power outages in the area and our teams will be investigating these throughout today.

For those customers that are still either without power themselves or are affected by the outage of service of their broadband we ask that you please remain patient until we have assessed all parts of our network.

We are aware that several customers now have their power restored. Unfortunately our main network element is still without power and we are being advised by SSE that it will be 20:00 tomorrow night before it will be restored.

We cannot unfortunately do anything to resolve this so we ask that you please remain patient until we know the full situation.

As most people will be aware storm Amy has certainly lived up to expectation. SSE reportedly have faults in the hundreds with power outages over a very large area of the country. There are some areas where the winds are still too strong for SSE to safely deploy engineers . Our network is off as we have no power at many of our main network elements. Our engineers have confirmed that there are locations that SSE haven`t even noted as a fault. They simply have too many to register them all.

We cannot unfortunately do anything to resolve this so we ask that you please remain patient until we know the full situation.

It has been widely report over the last few days and it has now been confirmed that the path storm Amy is most likely to take will be straight through the Highlands and in particular, our area and the NW coast. We are very likely to see disruption to transport and power supplies and this in turn will have an effect on our network. We do have backup systems in place and these will keep the majority of our network up and working but as always we are in the hands of SSEN to restore the power as quickly as possible when it is safe for them to deploy engineers.

If you find yourself without service please do not reset any part of your equipment as this will cause a loss of the configuration settings and this will require an engineer to visit to reconfigure it. Power to our main hilltop site was restored overnight and the majority of our network was restored by early this morning.

Again our engineers were out early this morning to assess some continuing faults and one was found that they were able to resolve and this meant that all areas of our network were restored by mid morning. SSEN have had further outages throughout today but all now appear to have been dealt with. We have sustained some damage that will need to be repaired in the coming days and once this has been completed we can then start to check each of our main links and access points for any faults that they may have incurred over the duration of the storm.

It is our intention to do our best to undertake any necessary work with no or very minimal disruption to service. Thanks to Floris, we have already had enough disruption.

We thank you for your patience during the period of time when service was lost but we were limited to what we could do due to the loss of power and also to ensure our engineers were working safely and without any danger to themselves.

We hope that the coming days allow us to complete any ongoing work in a timely manner and without any further disruption.

Please note that this will be charged to your account and it may be several days and is very likely to be even next week at the current time before we can get to you.

Any reset equipment that requires an engineer to reconfigure will not be a priority at this time as we need to concentrate on any major faults or damage that we may encounter.

Unfortunately we cannot account for the weather or subsequent outages but when they occur we will always do our utmost to resolve them as quickly as we possibly can provided that it is safe for our team to do so.

Power to our main hilltop site was restored overnight and the majority of our network is now once again working.

It does look like we have sustained some damage and engineers are currently on their way to the site to assess the damage.

We will update further once we have an idea of what the extent of the damage is.
