A bit of a change of scene today...

As someone who usually works from home in my little office, which is not a bad set-up to be fair, it can still feel quite isolating at times.

So when I saw there was a new co-working group in Torquay, the , I thought it sounded like such a brilliant idea.

There is something really motivating about being around other people who are also building, creating, working on projects and making things happen in their own businesses.

It is lovely to work on client projects in a more relaxed environment, but it is also a chance to step out of the day-to-day, have conversations, think about my own business and gain a bit of fresh perspective and insight from others too.
A good reminder that connection is part of the work.

Thank you, Pink Productivity Club, for holding such a nice space for us to come together and connect.

I haven’t really spoken about this much on here, but website design is something we’re now offering more intentionally alongside social media support.

Because social media and websites shouldn’t work separately.

Your social media helps people discover you, connect with your brand and build trust. Your website helps turn that interest into action, whether that’s an enquiry, a booking, a sale or a deeper look into your services.

So, if you're looking for a new website design with UK hosting (if needed) alongside social media strategy and starter content packages, to help your established business, or are a service-led brand with growing teams, we can help you create a more joined-up online presence from the start.

This can include:

Website design and hosting
Social media strategy
Starter posts, reels and carousels
Caption writing
Stories to support your launch
Analysis and optional ongoing social media management if needed

So if your website feels outdated, no longer reflects the level of your business, or you’re ready to launch something new and want your social media to support it properly, this might be exactly what you need.

A joined-up online presence helps people move from discovering you to trusting you, enquiring with you and feeling confident in what you offer.

Send us a message or enquiry via email (link in the bio) if you’d like to chat about how your website and social media can work better together.

First dry day in what feels like forever and what a difference it makes... Actual soul-lifting energy!

Something about blue skies and fresh air can somehow make everything feel clearer, including business.

It got me reflecting on the week, and while walking, I had a bit of a revelation. I've been helping a client untangle what felt like constant overwhelm.

Things weren’t “wrong” exactly… just heavy. Manual. Clunky. Emails not delivering properly. Updates landing in the wrong places. A lot of time spent firefighting.

Then it hit me.
It wasn’t a visibility issue.
It was a systems issue.

When everything relies on you manually pushing it forward, of course, it feels exhausting. Your team ends up troubleshooting instead of focusing on sales, growth, and the work that actually moves the needle.

But when you have a system that works for you? That’s when things shift.

Your website, lead capture, emails and content start working with each other instead of against each other.

Things flow.
Your input reduces.
Your energy shifts from reactive to strategic.

We've been thinking a lot lately about how we join the dots in business.
Because when they’re connected properly, everything feels lighter.

Do you have systems in place that support your business?

Here's why your messaging matters.

Say we're onboarding a new client who sells electrical kitchen goods, and we ask who their ideal customer is, they say, "Anyone who wants a kettle."”

Technically… yes.
But also… not really.

Are we talking about a £10 kettle that just boils water and does the job?
Or are we thinking a premium smart kettle that syncs to your morning routine and matches your kitchen's aesthetics?

Both are valid, and both have value. But they communicate in completely different languages.

That's where messaging comes in.

For every product or service, there are always different types of buyers. If we try to speak to everyone, we end up connecting with no one. Your message is what helps people instantly recognise, "This feels like me."

And if I'm being completely honest, this is something that's taken me a long time to figure out for this business. It's often much easier when you're looking at someone else's from the outside. I get a sort of inward-looking lens, from an outside perspective, when you're so inside of a business, making decisions, doing the work, trying to keep everything moving, it can feel surprisingly hard to articulate what you stand for.

Especially if you enjoy working across different industries, so instead of forcing a tight niche, if it’s not coming naturally. I've found it more helpful to look for the common thread. The shared values. The way you like to work. The kind of energy you bring to a project.

Clarity over noise.
Systems that actually support the work, rather than add to it.
A way of working that feels considered, not chaotic.

Those values tend to attract a certain type of client, regardless of industry. And that's where your message starts to make sense.

Here's what happens once we start working together… and yes, there are forms 😅

First things first, a small confession.

I love a good form. Organisation brings me joy! But, I know forms aren't exactly thrilling… and if that level of organisation makes you break out in a cold sweat, we might not be the perfect match 😂

Once your proposal is signed and sealed, we move on to onboarding. Everything is digital and nice and simple. You'll receive a few forms, some practical, like access, so I can manage your social accounts, and one slightly more in-depth where I really get to know you.

This is the deep dive. Your business, your goals, your audience, your tone of voice, the full shebang.

I know it can feel like a bit of work upfront, but these steps are what make everything that follows feel calm, aligned, and intentional. This form guides the strategy, the plan of action, and the type of content we create together.

Once we're on the same page, I get to work. I batch up a month's worth of content, upload everything into Trello for your approval, and then take it from there.

No panic posting in the mornings.

No second-guessing what's going out or when.

What takes a little time at the start creates a system that supports a smooth, stress-free working relationship.

You're busy. I'm busy. So let's simplify things where we can.

We’ve all been there.

Does marketing yourself often feel like a catch-22?
You know it matters. You want to stay visible and top of mind. But when you’re at full capacity, it’s just the first ball to drop.

I create content and manage marketing for clients every day, and I still feel this. When work ramps up (which is the goal), making time for my own business quietly slides. It’s understandable that we only have so much energy to give in a day, but this approach doesn’t support long-term growth. And so many business owners are in the same boat.

A couple of reminders I’m holding onto:

Try not to overthink it. Connection matters more than perfection.
Some visibility is better than none at all. We don’t get better by waiting until everything feels “good enough”.

Those drafts? Get them out.
That idea you’re sitting on? Share it.

What’s helping me is keeping things simple. Even carving out an hour or two a week to get ideas out of my head and into a structure that supports my goals.

One filming day a month.
A small bank of usable content and ideas
Something to lean on when things get mega busy... because it inevitably will.

You don’t always need to do more.
Just something that supports your growth when life gets full 🤍

Instagram just made reels more clickable 👀

There’s a new feature in the Edits app, and it’s a good one.
Now you can add a clickable link directly on your reel to:

Another reel
A pinned reel
Or your own (or another) account
Inside the Edits app, it's simple:

Tap the links icon > choose reel or account > paste the link to the reel that you want to link to.

This creates an on-screen overlay, like the ones I’ve added to this video, making it much easier to guide viewers to your next piece of content.

If you create series content, have complementary reels, or want to include a clearer call-to-action to a pinned post, this update is a win.

For a platform that hasn’t always been link-friendly, this opens up more ways to keep people moving through your content.

Have you tried it yet?

Side note: I shared this directly from Instagram Edits in Instagram and, from what I can see, the clickable link works when posting natively on the platform, rather than scheduling.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

If video content has ever stopped you from showing up, this one’s for you...

Here's a little behind the scenes of what I've been getting up to between client work this week.

The real purpose of this post, though, is to get more comfortable with video content. If I’m honest, it’s something that’s held me back for a long time and at times has even stopped me from showing up at all.

I know video is the way forward, it's more personal and engaging, plus I create a lot for my clients, yet for ages, it just felt overwhelming and time-consuming. Add on gym days, wet and wild weather, and hair that definitely isn’t always "camera-ready", well.... let's just say I didn't feel very video-friendly. 😂

Then, as if by magic, the Two Laura's launched their video confidence challenge that started this week. When I saw it, it genuinely felt like divine intervention! The Two Lauras

This little clip was part of an exercise to build confidence, and while it’s far from perfect (yes, including the random cat socks hanging off the chair in the background), I thought… why not share it?

One, because it’s confidence-building.
Two, because it’s content.
And three, because I know I’m not alone in this.

In the spirit of sharing what I’m learning, this kind of simple b-roll with a voiceover is actually really easy to create. And once you get into the habit, dare I say… It can even become quite enjoyable.

So if you’ve been putting off video content or overthinking it (like so many of us do), maybe this is your sign to give this style of content a try.

When was the last time you shared a video for your business?

I’ve been a little quiet lately… but for good reason.

Behind the scenes, there’s been a whole lot of rethinking, refining, rebranding... and a few too many coffees while figuring out what the next chapter of RFVA really looks like.

The truth? It's never felt good showing up just for the sake of it. It feels off. And honestly, I needed to create space to look at the bigger picture, our message, our offers, and who we’re best placed to serve as we grow into a different model that feels aligned, not rushed.

Sometimes stepping back doesn’t mean stopping completely. It means slowing down just enough to listen, refocus, and make sure the work you are doing is intentional.

So, while we’re mid-transition, I’ll be sharing the same clarity-led tips and honest insights that have been helping us behind the scenes, to help you simplify your marketing and reconnect with what actually works.

If you’ve ever felt like you needed a reset before your next growth phase, you’re in good company. Here’s to doing business with more intention, more confidence, and a whole lot more ease.
