1. Mum & Dad showing me their new stomping ground since moving out of my childhood home! This is my first trip home not going back to Boughton.
2. A little treat from the local farm shop
3. Colourful beach huts down on The Leas
4. & 5. Getting some time in with my sister. Video calls just aren’t practical for Nicole so this is really the only time we get together now I love overseas ❤️ I talk, she listens (I hope!)
6. & 7. A little evening stroll and drink down in Hythe
8. Probably the best Cumberland I have had, hands down
9. Remembering why we love the seaside towns here so much
10. A little tapas and sangria date
11. The Goods Yard in Folkestone. It’s pretty cool to come back and see how much this place has changed
12. Family catch ups with the Bovis’s and my first offical fish and chips on British soil
13. & 14. A lovely afternoon with old friends. My favourite feeling about coming home is seeing friends you have known for almost 20 years and it feeling like you never left ❤️

Working on this project by .brief may or may not have inspired a weekend in Lisbon over Euro Summer…

The design choices we used speak directly to the Portuguese tart and rich history of the city. The beautiful pastry, custard and slight char can all be found in this colour palette along with hand draw illustrations to tie the brand identity together.

Imagined through signage and product design, the traditional and quaint voice of this brand can be heard loud and clear.

Small businesses spend around 40% of their time on admin…that’s a lot, especially if your team is just you.

Knowing when to outsource tasks can be difficult but imagining what you could do with that 40% of your week back is easy!

I worked at this company once and they operated on a pretty old CRM. It had most of your usual functions but it was like looking Windows 99 IYKYK…

We all knew at some point there would be a migration across to the latest shiny software and when that day came you won’t believe what we discovered.

At some point in the process there had been a “glitch”. You know the kind the glitch they tell you happened at the airport when they have over booked your flight. This glitch had meant all our data from the old CRM was sitting in no-man’s land. Transferred enough that we couldn’t start again but not transferred fully to we couldn’t access it on the new system.

Because the company wasn’t a company that over sourced they had to find someone to fix it, and that someone was me. Hours and hours of data entry that took away from my every day role, not ideal!

So in 2024 weeks are leaving that behind and hey if the inevitable does happen, I might know a VA that can help 😉

When you are in the trenches of a new brand or trying to up level your social presence it can all be a bit over whelming.

Setting up your social media profile across the platforms doesn’t need to be hard but it does take time.

The easiest way to set yourself up for success is getting clear on who your audience is, working out the 2 or 3 (MAX MAX MAX) platforms that you are going to be on and then what your brand personality is. Clear concise messaging is the goal!

I’m Danie aka and after a huge plot twist at the start of 2024, I have decided to go all in as a freelance VA.

After years in Corporate working for Property & Constructions companies I learnt how best to support business owners achieve their goals. The easiest way to do that? Relieve their admin stress.

So you WFH to get a bit more balance...sounds great until you realise you are doing more hours that working in the office and struggle to switch between work mode and relax.

Here's my top 5 tips to set yourself up for this new lifestyle;

1. Actually have a morning routine you enjoy. Go to the workout class you want to, catch up for a quick coffee with friends, do a little housework. One thing living in Australia has taught me to do is embrace the morning rather than seeing it as just dead space before the work day.

2. Refresh your workspace - get rid of any cups plates, rubbish, clutter from your space either at the end of the day or the start of the day to make sure you have a clean space to focus.

3. Take regular breaks! Especially if you are working on socials the phone addiction can seem REAL! Make sure you are scheduling time in to have a break from work. Read a book, call a friend, cook a nice meal...

4. Establish a consistent time schedule. Time blocking can be great for this as well, and have this set up ahead of time.

5. Reflect & Plan - Set aside some time at the end of every work day to see how you day has gone and what can go better tomorrow. Is there anything you need from your client? Do you need a change or scenery? Have you freed up a bit of time for a shorter day tomorrow? It's better to look at all this stuff the night before rather than the night of.
