Decision making
How quickly do you make decisions?
The big ones and the small ones.
Something I've noticed in myself is a clear improvement in decisiveness.
Saving time and preserving valuable brain cells, which instead can be used for creativity and enjoyment.
I was recently at the Boardmasters music and surf festival in Newquay with a couple of friends. They will be receiving an inheritance and were discussing a potential property move and weren't clear on how best to use this opportunity. Or whether what they both wanted was aligned.
I was comparing this to two years ago when I drove past the perfect property which on my vision board. I had no cash at the time, but with some creative accounting and financing found a way getting the keys to that property within nine months.
In effect I had already made the decision before I even saw the property, and so didn't need to concern myself with 'the how' when it presented itself.
This is what I do with my business coaching clients. We invest a some time getting clear on what's important to them, and creating a clear visualisation of the business life they want.
Then when opportunities present themselves, which they eventually do, there is no need to 'think about it'.
If you are indecisive it means you haven't done the work.
Don't try and do this on your own.
1st September is day one of year 13 of my coaching business.
If you would like to experience this level of clarity for yourself, I will be sitting down with people for a b**r, or a coffee, over the next couple of weeks to create clear long term visions and a focus for decision making for the September to December period.
No commitment or fee (I'm always surprised at how few people take me up on this offer. Everyone is clear on their values, their vision, and the next focus?)
It creates a saving in time, money, and energy when your decision opportunities present themselves.
Use the carpenter analogy; measure twice, cut once. Spend a little time at the end of summer to be clear on what's most important to you. Make the declaration, then the focus will follow.
Contact me to book one of my free business life planning slots in September.
Cheers!
