Let’s meet the people behind N-J security finally we have Suzie McTaggart…..
Hey everyone, I’m Suzie — Operations Manager and shareholder at N-J Security.
I’ve been working in the security sector for 11 years, starting out as a steward before earning my badge and progressing through the industry. Over the years, I’ve covered a wide range of roles, from static guarding to major events and festivals, including Cheltenham, Ascot, and even New Year’s Eve in London this year — which was an incredible experience to be part of.
I genuinely enjoy the variety this industry brings and thrive on being challenged. I always give 110% to everything I take on.One of the best parts of my journey has been running this company alongside my best friend. We’ve faced plenty of challenges, but we’ve overcome them together, which makes it even more rewarding.
Fun fact about me: I collect teapots of all kinds ☕

Director - My name is Jay, ive been in the industry for 9 years, I started of my career working for a local company and worked on doors became a TL for events I have had the most amazing career so far where I can honestly say ive been apart off some amazing High profile events, ive worked in Cornwall, Glasgow, london and Wales.From a boy growing up in a council estate to the person i have become today is because ive not let anyone stand in my way.
What do I love doing away from work ive got to be honest and say probably talking about work haha. Did you know Jay also did the baton of hope as a baton bearer this was something that was very close to his heart.
Random fact from Jay… did you know the human stomach can dissolve razor blades?

It is going to get chilly again over the next few days.

When temperatures drop below a certain level, we put into place additional accommodation for homeless people to prevent harm.

Because of the forecast, we are activating our Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP) for six nights, until Monday morning.

We are honoured to be providing the security for this year's Remembrance Sunday this weekend.

We are approaching Remembrance Sunday on 9 November and Armistice Day on Tuesday 11 November.

Our communities in Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham are coming together to honour the sacrifices of those who served in conflicts past and present.

Events will include parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, moments of silence, and memorial services across the Bay. All are welcome to participate in this collective act of remembrance.

Please see below for the schedule of services taking place from Sunday 9 November to Tuesday 11 November:

Torquay:

Sunday 9 November
11am - Civic Parade to the Cenotaph followed by a service, wreath-laying, and two minutes’ silence
3pm - Memorial Service in Tor Church Road churchyard

Tuesday 11 November
11am - Short service and two minutes’ silence outside Torquay Town Hall
11am - Additional services at Fore Street in Saint Marychurch
1pm - Additional services at St Mark’s Road by the War Memorial
7:30pm - Festival of Remembrance at Central Church

Paignton:

Sunday 9 November
10am - Morning service at Paignton Parish Church
3pm - Afternoon wreath-laying service at Palace Avenue Gardens

Tuesday 11 November
11am - Memorial service and two minutes’ silence at Paignton War Memorial

Brixham:

Sunday 9 November
10:30am - Brixham Remembrance Parade assembling at the Man and Boy Statue, Kings Quay.
11am - Remembrance Service by the War Memorial on Berry Head Road

Tuesday 11 November
10:55am - Remembrance Service by Churston War Memorial
