🎉 Pollyfield Play Area — Now Open in East-the-Water, Bideford!
We're thrilled to share the finished Pollyfield Play Area — a vibrant community-backed play space designed and built by TK Play on behalf of Torridge District Council. 🌿⚓
This project is extra special: local residents fundraised to make it happen, and schoolchildren voted on the winning design — choosing a scheme that blends jungle adventure with nautical elements inspired by Bideford's historic shipbuilding heritage.
The park features:
✅ Pirate-Themed Play Structure with climbing and sliding
✅ Vibrant blue wetpour surfacing with 2D sea creature graphics
✅ Combination swings with cradle and basket seats
✅ Wheelchair-accessible roundabout and basket swing
✅ 3D themed sculptures throughout the jungle zones
✅ Accessible Agri-Flex pathways connecting every play zone
✅ Bow-top galvanised fencing with self-closing safety gates

‼️ Exciting News ‼️

The shelter at Calf Street Play Area in Torrington is complete.🥳

After years of fundraising and working with the community, the youth shelter has now been installed and is ready to use.

Children, adults, parents and grandparents are now able to have an extra place to socialise and cover from the rain when using the park.

There will be an official opening on Friday at 6pm.

Richmond Gardens Play Park – Week 2 Progress👷🏼
Exciting progress this week at the Richmond Gardens Play Park in Carbis Bay 🌊, St Ives — the stone base is now down, and we’ve begun installing the first pieces of play equipment as we prepare for the safety surfacing rubber to go in next.

The layout is really starting to take shape, and it’s great to see this new community space coming to life — complete with inclusive play areas, sensory elements, and safe, durable surfacing.

New Community Play Project Underway! 🌿
We’re proud to share that construction is now underway on the Richmond Gardens Play Park in Carbis Bay 🌊, St. Ives — a new community space designed and built by TK Play, specialists in playground design, build, and safety surfacing across Devon, Cornwall, and the South West.

Created for St Ives Town Council, the project will feature inclusive play equipment, sensory elements, and safe, durable surfacing, transforming this local green space into a vibrant, family-friendly destination for all ages.

We are currently expanding our team and seeking dedicated Playground Installers to join us at TK Play. As a leading provider of playground equipment and safety surfacing, we are looking for individuals with a passion for creating engaging play areas. While prior experience in installing playgrounds, groundworks, or construction would be advantageous, we are willing to provide full training to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Complete installation of playgrounds, including safety surfacing, from start to finish.
- Perform groundworks, construction, fencing, and other related tasks associated with play areas.
- Undertake both new installations and refurbishment projects.
- Travel to different areas, primarily serving customers in Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset.

Requirements:
- Enthusiastic and energetic individual with a strong work ethic.
- Physically fit and able to handle the demands of the job.
- Possess any operative training certificates such as digger, dumper, telehandler, forklift, HGV, trailer test, or construction site health and safety awareness (desirable).
- First Aid training and CSCS card would be an advantage.
- Experience in laying safety surfacing or floor screening is beneficial.
- Clean driving license and a clear criminal record (a DBS check will be required).
- Based in Frithelstockstone, Torrington, N Devon EX38 8JP, and able to meet and finish work at our depot.
