Yesterday I shared a video about delegation.

Today, I want to give you a short framework to actually put it into practice.
One of the biggest barriers to growth isn't a lack of time, it's a lack of trust in letting go.

Here's what I've learned working with founders: most people don't struggle to delegate because they're control freaks. They struggle because they care about their clients, their reputation, and the quality of their work.

But... every hour spent doing something someone else could learn to do is an hour not spent on relationships, growth, or the future of your business.

So here's a simple framework I use with my clients.

Before you take something on yourself, ask:

1. Does this task genuinely need me, or just someone who understands the process?

2. If I invested one hour teaching this today, how many hours would I get back over six months?

3.What's the real cost of me holding onto this?

It's rarely just the time, it's the opportunities you didn't have time to chase, and there is a big cost to that!

Delegation isn't about lowering your standards, it's about building a business that isn't completely dependent on you.

That's when real growth starts. šŸ‘‡ (swipe through)

What’s one task you’re still doing that someone else could take off your plate this week?

Let me know in the comments, I’ll read every one.

Stop trying to collect business cards… start collecting conversations.

The best opportunities I’ve ever had didn’t come from a perfect pitch. They came from genuine conversations, real curiosity, and building relationships over time.

People buy from people they know, like and trust.

So next time you walk into a room, forget about selling. Focus on connecting.

Who have you had a great conversation with recently? šŸ‘‡

Don’t think about the full journey. That can be so scary and overwhelming for lots of us.

Just think, what’s the first step, the next step, then eventually you will look back and think, WOW, I actually did that!

Tell me what you’re overthinking in the comments and I promise I’ll do my best to help.

I shared this with my LinkedIn audience and people have been grateful, so I thought I’d share it here for you guys...

The quality of what AI gives you is a direct reflection of the quality of thinking you bring to it.

I just finished a book that changed how I use AI, so I wanted to share my thoughts with you.

It's called How to Talk to AI, by Jamie Bartlett. I won’t lie, I picked it up thinking, this is just something I have to read for my work, but going in, I genuinely started to enjoy the read from the first few pages.

For a start, I learnt how AI chatbots are actually "grown" rather than programmed. Nobody sat down and told me that, so that alone reframed a lot for me.

It became a real lesson. The book built a clear understanding that the quality of what AI gives me back, is just a mirror of the quality of thinking I give to it in the first place. Vague question in, vague answer out, clear thinking in, genuinely useful answer out.

I've definitely caught myself doing this, firing off a rushed question to ChatGPT when I hadn't actually worked out what I was asking, and then being annoyed when the answer was useless.

One thing I've definitely enjoyed playing around with is how much a simple role-play frame changes what AI gives me back.

One of my finest attempts was: "Imagine you are Adele after a massive weekend bender" (a few more funny role-play instructions), "now create me a blog for the reasons why I started my own business after being made redundant."

What my AI delivered was, quite frankly, one of the best things it's given me in the whole time I've been using it. Maybe one day I'll share it, for sh*ts and giggles.

Anyway…

Bartlett's point is that the real skill isn't clever prompt engineering, it's understanding how small changes in framing can radically change the output the model gives you. A role gives the AI a point of view, a vocabulary, and a set of instincts to write from, rather than defaulting to the flattest, most average version of an answer, which is what happens when you ask it a bare question with no context.

So before your next AI prompt, try this: spend two minutes getting clear on the actual problem first (or even better, read the book). You'll notice the difference in what comes back.

I hope this post nudges a few of you to pick up the book. Something in it might spark exactly what you need.

What's one book that changed how you think? I would really like to know, so I can try it myself.

I’ve promised some of you I’ll give you tips and hacks to get you through.

Today’s tip: Don’t wait for perfection.

Progress outperforms perfection every time.

Send the email. Launch the thing. Publish the post. Have that awkward conversation you’ve been putting off. Open the door. Join the networking group.

Whatever it is, I promise it will be worth it.

Perfection will come. For now, it’s all about progress.

Tag the person who needs to hear it, share it, do what you need with this. Tell me what’s currently stopping you from moving forward.

I’m genuinely curious because I can guarantee I’ve either been there or I’m feeling something similar right now.

My OES journey is WILD… šŸŽ

One week I’m immersed in HR, the next I’m researching pedigree sport horses!

One of the things I love most about running OES is that no two projects are ever the same. I genuinely love learning, getting stuck into new industries, and becoming part of my clients’ worlds.

Just one week into this latest project and my house is overflowing with horse and hound magazines, my search history is full of equine science, and I’ve completely fallen down the rabbit hole of pedigree sport horses… and I’m loving every minute of it.

This is one of those projects I simply couldn’t say no to.

So, if you’re passionate about horses, fascinated by equine science, or simply someone who believes in exceptional animal welfare, you need to follow these incredible ladies. I can’t wait to share more of their journey with you. 🐓✨ Scientia Sport Horses

Yesterday was one of those days that reminds me exactly why I started Orchard Executive Solutions in the first place. šŸ’›

I had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with and ERS Video, creating some exciting promotional content for our businesses. Watching ideas come to life on camera was such a brilliant experience, and we genuinely can’t wait to see the finished videos!

But beyond the filming, what really stood out was being surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do. People who are brave enough to step outside their comfort zones, chase their ambitions, support one another, and celebrate each other’s successes.

One of the greatest gifts of running OES has been meeting so many talented, inspiring and hardworking business owners. The connections, the collaboration, the laughter, and the shared determination to make something special happen, it truly fills my cup.

Running a small business isn’t always easy, but days like yesterday remind me that it’s absolutely worth it.

Let’s continue to champion and cheerlead the incredible local businesses doing amazing things in our communities. Your courage, creativity and commitment deserve to be celebrated. šŸ™Œ

We love you all! ā¤ļø
