Working hours: 39.5 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern:
Week 1. 06:00 - 14:30 Monday to Thursday/06:00 - 14:00 Friday,
Week 2. 14:00 - 22:30 Monday to Thursday/14:00 - 22:00 Friday
Rate of pay: Competitive
Job purpose:
To provide mechanical and welding support working as part of the Maintenance team to ensure smooth running of the plant.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
- To work to a programme of planned
maintenance for the site
- To ensure specification and purchasing
is timely and cost-effective by following
the company procedures
- Apply the highest standards of health
and safety during all tasks, as per
company procedures
- Ensure external contract personnel
working on equipment comply with all
company standards and procedures
- Be a proactive member of any
continuous improvement initiatives
- Reactive maintenance on a wide range
of equipment across the site
- To adapt to any preventive or reactive
maintenance procedural changes and
keep all relevant maintenance data
current
- To provide fitting, fabricating and
welding support
- To monitor and repair wearing
equipment
- To be involved in small project work
- To respond to emergencies and repairs
as required
- Work with other members of the
maintenance team
- Work in line with the company’s
Mission, Vision and Values
- Any other additional duties as required.
Required qualifications/experience/competencies
- Experienced in production
environments
- Well organised and works well under
pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills
Full driving license/own transport
- ONC approved apprenticeship or
equivalent in mechanical engineering
- Basic electrical fault finding and
disconnect/reconnect is desirable
- Weld and fabricate using TIG, MIG and
ARC.
- Ability to organise, plan and procure
materials for repair or upgrade works
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Must be able to read engineering
drawings and produce fabrications to a
high standard of finish on own initiative
- Positive, can do attitude and self-
motivated
- Proactive
- Well organised and works well under
pressure
- Recycling/Process/Quarry industry
experience desirable
- Working knowledge of conveyor,
bearings, gearboxes and motors
desirable
