The DIY retailer Wickes is keen to give back to the local community. In 2001, they launched The Wickes Community Programme to support local initiatives through product donations.

The fund is open to all local community groups and charities in need of products to maintain and renovate community areas.

Examples of items they've donated:
* Lockable toolboxes (for a hospital to safely store medications)
* Paints and decorating products to help refresh a community church
* Building supplies were donated to various charitable organisations, including charities like Men in Sheds
* Brushes and other items were donated to help a local primary school

Since 2001, they've supported over 4,000 projects!

Up to £500 is available through the JAZZ Apple Foundation, to:
* Individuals of all ages who are legal and permanent residents of the UK or Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
* Schools, colleges, academies
* Good causes
* Charities
* Sports groups etc

Projects must help young people with healthy eating, sport and physical exercise.

Since its formation, the Foundation has helped over 1,000 people and handed out over £20,000 in awards to a range of great causes ranging from junior football teams to dance and ballet clubs.

Grants are available through Laughology’s Happiness Fund.

The fund will award £5,000 twice a year - allowing up to two different projects/charities or CIC’s per year to apply.

Projects that help improve mental health, wellbeing, inclusion, learning and skills development in local communities are eligible for funding.

To apply for the fund your project must be:
➤ Based in your local community.
➤ Non-profit
➤ Non-political
➤ Focused on longevity

Individuals, large charities, schools and universities cannot apply.

Have you heard of Heart Felt Tips?

This Community Interest Company requests donations of quality stationery items to distribute to disadvantaged children.

The company can provide your school with empty pencil cases which students take home to fill (with the help of the parents etc).

Once returned to the school these pencil cases are distributed via food banks and children’s charities to deserving local children.

UK organisations can apply for a grant from Awards for All.

Grants are worth between £300 to £20,000 and applicants can reapply every 12 months if they need further funding.

To be successful projects must do at least one of these things:
♦️ bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
♦️ improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
♦️ help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
♦️ support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.

You can apply if your organisation is a:
🔴 constituted voluntary or community organisation
🔴 constituted group or club
🔴 registered charity
🔴 charitable incorporated organisation (CIO)
🔴 not-for-profit company
🔴 community interest company (CIC)
🔴 school (as long as your project benefits and involves the communities around the school)
🔴 statutory body (including local authorities, town, parish and community council)
🔴community benefit society

There is no deadline to apply by as applications are accepted ongoing.

Funding is available from Wooden Spoon; the children’s charity of rugby.

Since 1983, the charity have given over £31 million to 1,465 projects, and have supported over one and a half million children and young people living with a disability, who are disengaged, or who are disadvantaged.

Projects must be:
* In the UK or Ireland
*Be aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people

The project must enhance and support the lives of children and young people with a cognitive age under 25 that are disadvantaged
physically, mentally, or socially.

The project must work directly with children and young people and have a positive influence on their lives from the activities or service provided.

The project beneficiaries must be a group. Wooden Spoon cannot make grants to individuals

There is neither a minimum nor a maximum grant level.

The Googly Fund is a charitable trust that wants to expand the playing of friendly cricket for adults in the UK, by encouraging and supporting new teams and players, and by helping existing teams to survive and grow.

They typically offer grants between £100 - £300 to cricket clubs, teams or individuals (sometimes larger donations are considered too).

The Primary Parent Challenge also awards grants of up to £300 to help support social cricket matches between the parents of primary school children.
