There has been an explosion in the digital business card space recently for a reason! Not only does it have a positive impact on the environment with less paper being consumed and thrown away, but it's become more convenient than ever to give someone your details.

𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸?
The digital business cards have Near Field Communication (NFC) chips inside of them. When you tap your phone, your phone will read the data and bring up a page with your information on it. For older phones, a lot have QR codes printed that direct to the same page, all the person needs to do is open their camera app and it'll pop up on their screen when they point it at the QR code.

Standard digital business cards don't offer much in the way of functionality, maybe a link to your website and add to contacts button. But we know that these cards can be used as a selling tool for external cleaner, which is why we've developed our own digital business card system.

Not only can the potential customer download your details onto the phone with one click, they can also be directed to your website, a booking form, your business WhatsApp, page, emails and even hit the call now button.

On top of this, you can use it to gather new reviews, setup GoCardless on the door and with certain payment systems, accept payments.

One thing people like is convenience. Being able to get your details straight into their phone increases the likelihood they'll eventually give you a call. Having a book now button with an instant quote system gives them the opportunity to book immediately too, or when they're carrying on their day.

Are you using set pricing? Did you know it can help you win more work and at higher prices?

We live in a world where convenience is key. People want information, and they want it instantly. Which is why it is always a good idea to have a standard set pricing method.

Convenience comes at a premium!
Being able to confidently say to someone, in an average sized property, that it is going to cost them x amount allows them to make an instant decision, and usually it will land in your favour.

I went from charging £14 for a 3 bed semi, to £17 for the windows to be cleaned, and I was finding even more people were saying yes right away. You can generally charge more when you have set pricing.

So how do you decide what your prices are?
- Think about the average size house in your area.
- Break it down into house types. We like to use Semi Detached / Terraced, Detached, Three Storey & Flats.
- Break it down by the number of bedrooms
- Think about the average sized conservatory & extension on them.

ALWAYS have a minimum charge. My external cleaning company's is £18 (£15 before VAT). £15 works in most areas.

Decide on a price you'd be happy with if you turned up to a house of each size. Maybe add £1-2 just to cover any irregularities.

Need some extra help deciding good pricing? Google search your competitors in your area to see what they're charging or look at your current customer base and see if there are any patterns in the way you quote the jobs.

Just a short post to introduce myself!

I'm James, I've been an external cleaner for the past 6 years. I've been using automated booking systems for about 4 years and seen an absolute transformation in how I run my business, and the number of bookings I actually take.
