BIO
Kenneth started his pro career in 1985 when he opened his first studio in the beautiful Scottish Borders town of Innerleithen. In 1987 he was the first Scottish photographer to be awarded the Kodak Gold Award for Excellence in Portraiture. This was followed in the next few years by another 5 wins and 19 Highly Commended Gold Awards. In 1989 Kenny was once again the first Scottish Photographer

to be given the great honour to become a Kodak Masterclass Lecturer. He was soon elevated to the post of judge on the Kodak Gold Award Panel and soon became chairman of both the UK and European Judging Panels. In 1990 he joined forces with the Welsh Wizard - Mark Cleghorn and formed Golden Touch Seminars which toured all over the UK, Ireland and Europe until 1996. In 1996 Kenny quit the lecturing circuit to concentrate on the portrait side of the business the business grew year on year until moving to a prestigious studio in the center of Edinburgh was on the cards. Still one of the UK's flagship studios, it is run by Kenny’s wife Nina and a team of highly skilled staff. Kenneth was the first portrait studio to convert to a 100% digital workflow with leading digital back manufacturer Phase One in 1997, in recent years he has visited many parts of the world including, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden lecturing to his fellow professional photographers on the subject of portraiture, lighting, street photography and digital workflow for high volume portrait studios. His many awards and distinctions include:

Kenneth Martin Photo Training was set up 8 years ago, teaches all standards of photographers from total beginners to advanced professionals. The structure of the classes is simple, select the class you want to attend and either book it as a One 2 One or share it with friends, this of course makes the price more attractive per person. Kenny conducts classes on subjects as diverse as Lighting, Posing, Group Building, Post Production, Workflow, Setting up an On-Line Product Studio, Art N**e, Street Photography and loads of other classes. It is unusual for ‘creative’ photographers to also have the ‘business’ acumen but Kenny uses these skills to great effect and both The Studio Doctor and TCMP delegates have benefited from this service. around 4 years ago Kenny hooked up again with Mark Cleghorn and became a Master on the biggest On-Line Photo Training Site in Europe. His films on business, portraiture and Elements have been much lauded.

Moving away from my one 2 one studio visits to a 100% on-line coaching model has been a blast. Just off a call from a Singapore Dog Studio, helping plan and set up some exhibitions and dog related promotions. As a Studio Success Mentor there is nothing I like better than to see real SUCCESS!!!! Visits this week include my 1st studio who is a specialist dog studio starting from absolute scratch - 1st month trading £10k+ WOW. 2nd studio I have been with for a year and he just moved into a new and swanky studio due to his success and is on fire a record month in his first trading month in the new gaff! 3rd studio just keeps getting better and better £70k t/o in the 1st year I worked with them and this year we are on target for a massive £250k t/o and October was a incredible record month at £36k+ and a gigantic average sale. Well that’s my work done for the day. My spot was the early one from 10am to 11am. Looks like an extremely good event Charlie has put on. Lots of very positive feedback from both the delegates and the trade! Met lot’s of my old muckers for a catch up. I am now chilling at my campsite and preparing for my studio visit tomorrow.
