Just over five years ago I got made redundant within my sales job in the coffee industry due to Covid. It was an industry which I fell in love on my journey with, way back in 2014.
After getting a little sum payout, I made a leap of faith to start up my own company working for myself as I didn’t want to leave the industry, however I did not want to be part of a commercial wheel that focused purely on numbers and pound notes.
So with the help of friends & family purchasing coffee blends which I developed and brought to market I slowly grew!
Tapping on doors trying to convince new business, how working together that we could grow and learn, slowly I started to get wholesale customers on board, building relationships built on trust and going the extra mile.
Now, Running a small ain’t for the faint hearted and sacrifices have bean made along this journey so far such as a stable wage to pay bills as reinvestment went back in to build stock of machines and take on a training room.
Time away from loved ones, late nights, lots and lots of late nights, researching learning about differant areas of business and operations.
I have had to work extra jobs to compensate this reinvestment but now after five years it is starting to pay off.
Future plans are coming and it has come from organic growth and not some quick outside investment which would of mostly ended up in closing as company’s who invest want immediate results which I believe compromises what I started up this for in the first place!
What have I achieved so far
Built a regular retail customer base
Designed and implemented a funtioning website
Help create a Award GTA2024 winning coffee (bills blend)that helps support the lily foundation by donating profits from sales Bill’s Mito Battle
Trained countless young aspiring baristas who have gone on to succeed in their own right with confidence & passion.
Taking on many roles such as accounting designing warehousing coaching etc etc
