It is with great sadness that we share with the motion picture industry the passing of David Wright, Chairman of Photomec (London) Ltd.

David began his career at Photomec in 1975 and went on to acquire the company in 1985. Together with his sons, David and Andy, he led Photomec to become a globally respected and successful manufacturer of motion film processing equipment.

Although he had enjoyed a long retirement, David remained deeply interested in the company’s progress and took great pride in its continued innovation and achievements.

He passed away peacefully on Friday 24th April, aged 86, surrounded by his beloved wife Joan and his sons, David and Andy.

Photomec will continue to manufacture and support its customers in the way David would have expected.

He will be greatly missed.

Happy New Year!

Over the last 10 years, the manufacturing of ECN Status M densitometers has been discontinued. Following the desperate situation some of our customers face, we have now, with our partners at Barbieri, decided to reinstate the ECN Densy 250E. There will be a limited production of 10 units in the first instance. We will need a commitment from our customers so that we have orders for 10 units before we can initiate production of the first batch.

We said it would be a “cleaner” new year and here it is! Photomec’s new ISO cleaner sold and now in final testing prior to delivery to its new home with our customer.

Photomec will launch its new Colour Negative Densitometer in the next few months. We look forward to the industry welcoming this latest innovation by the engineers at Photomec.
