Teams Reconnected I want my HR colleagues to know they don’t have to carry the burden of conflict alone. That’s simply not true. It’s a lot. That’s where I come in.

Helping overwhelmed HR professionals solve conflict so they can create healthier, more connected teams without burning themselves out | Team Conflict Resolution Specialist | Workplace Mediation | Team Coaching. As a Team Conflict Resolution Specialist, I am on a mission to help overwhelmed HR professionals create healthier, more connected teams without burning themselves out. No HR professional should be expected to spend all their time firefighting dysfunctional teams or navigating negative workplaces. Let's face it, with all the different personalities, backgrounds and agendas in the workplace it's inevitable there will be some conflict from time to time, but is shouldn't be all consuming for you. There’s a stigma around workplace mediation that suggests it should only be used in the most extreme employee relations cases. Mediation is a quick, cost effective, proactive way to resolve the issues that are causing pain and tension. I believe that with the right support, teams can learn to value each person’s unique contribution and draw on their diverse strengths, skills, and experiences. As a Team Coach and Workplace Mediator, I facilitate clear, open communication that builds stronger, more positive relationships, freeing HR to focus on the wider priorities and expectations of their role.

I understand the weight of the demands on HR. You’re expected to manage everything from recruitment to well-being to compliance and then handle conflict on top of it all. And yet we all know how important it is to handle conflict properly and fairly. The consequences of letting it get out of hand are far-reaching, taking even more of your limited time and energy. But you’re tired of being pulled in to smooth things over. Every disagreement drains time and attention you simply don’t have to spare. I’m a qualified Executive Coach and Workplace Mediator, with decades of experience as a trainer, facilitator, and assessor in HR and leadership. By drawing on all these experiences, I provide HR with a specialist partner you can call on when you don’t have the time and headspace to deal with it. Helping HR and their teams feel EPIC - Empowered, Purposeful, Inspired and Connected. Your Conflict Resolution Specialist, here to take this weight off your shoulders.

HR deserves support too.

It’s easy to forget that, isn’t it?

HR professionals spend so much time supporting others — helping managers navigate tricky situations, holding space for people in conflict, and carrying the emotional weight that comes with trying to keep everyone okay.

But when you’re the one holding it all together, who’s holding you?

HR doesn’t have to fix every problem alone. Some situations need specialist help, like mediation, where an external perspective can bring clarity, calm, and a safe space for resolution.

Bringing in that support isn’t a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of wisdom. It says you care about people, but also about yourself and your team.

You’re human too. You deserve the same care, space, and support you give to everyone else. 💛

Life has a funny way of grounding you doesn’t it?!

Last week, in my weekly email, I gave myself a little pat on the back for sending something out fourteen weeks in a row. It might not sound like much to anyone else but for me that felt like an achievement, and I’m not great at celebrating those for myself, so I wanted to share that with the people that read my emails.

Except… it didn’t send

Oh,the irony!

My domain subscription had expired (despite being on auto‑renew), which meant my website and emails took a little unexpected holiday for a couple of days.

The streak I was celebrating… wasn’t quite a streak after all. But interestingly, I wasn’t as disappointed as I thought I’d be.

I’ve been planning to start a regular email for ages, but I wasn’t sure I could keep up the commitment. Now I’m in a rhythm, and even though last week’s message never reached anyone, it was written which makes this week fifteen weeks in a row of showing up for that routine.

The habit is sticking, and I’m quietly proud of that. I just need a better system for making sure my domain doesn’t expire again!

Is anyone else building new habits at the moment? How are you navigating the inevitable setbacks along the way?

The mediation process is completely confidential. Only the parties involved will ever know what is discussed and agreed.

This is one of the key things that make external mediation so successful!

When it’s dealt with internally, employees can be too nervous to open up and be honest. Without which, no real solution will be found. Tensions will still remain, bubbling under the surface, ready to reveal themselves again, the next time there is a bump in the road.

As an independent professional mediator coming in, I provide a safe place so the employees can feel fully heard and understood, we can get to the bottom of the issue and find a solution that actually works.

We can do it online or in person, the most important thing is we do it and you stop wasting time.

Looking to get a conflict actually and finally resolved instead of papering over the cracks?

Let’s talk.

It’ll be free, there's no obligation, but it is a chance to have a cuppa and talk to someone who understands how challenging it can be dealing with workplace conflict.

Message me and ask for my booking link, I’ll just be over here, putting the kettle on!

Internal conflicts can be particularly challenging for HR teams to manage.

Why? Because you’re often deeply connected to the people and processes involved.

You’re balancing the needs of the organisation with the expectations of employees, all while trying to remain neutral.

But when tensions run high, staying impartial can feel impossible – especially when emotions, hierarchies, or personal dynamics are at play.

That’s where external mediation comes in.

An independent mediator brings neutrality and the ability to challenge ingrained mindsets.

They provide a safe space for all parties to feel heard and respected without fear of bias.

The result?

➡️ A quicker, clearer path to resolution
➡️ Restored trust
➡️ Less tension in the long term

Sometimes, stepping outside the organisation’s usual processes is the key to moving forward.

Have you ever explored external mediation before?

Workplace mediation is not about blame or passing judgement on who’s right or wrong. The focus is on finding a solution that both parties can agree to and live with.

Are you ready to get this sorted out once and for all?

Let’s talk.

If I don’t think I can help, I will just say so.

If I do, this will go straight off your plate and you can carry on with the rest of the things on your enormous to do list!

Sound good?

"No one is a villain of their own story.” - Robbie Williams said that in the BBC documentary Boybands Forever, and it really stuck with me.

It’s so true. It’s so easy, in life and in work, to see things in black and white. To see ourselves as the hero of the story and everyone who isn’t on “our side” as the villain.

But the truth is, no one wakes up thinking they’re the bad guy. We all act from our own experiences, beliefs and intentions, and sometimes those collide with other people’s in ways that cause friction.

Recognising that we might be someone else’s villain is uncomfortable, but it’s also freeing. It’s where growth and understanding begin. It’s how we move forward.

Have you seen the documentary?

There’s another one on girlbands I want to watch too. It’s so nostalgic and fascinating to see how people in the limelight look back on their experiences, it’s never quite what we saw as the public.

Curious about what workplace mediation actually looks like? Here are the 5 steps I go through when an organisation brings me into help.

Workplace mediation can be used at any stage of the disagreement but the earlier the better, less stress for everyone involved and it stops it from getting worse.

Both parties have to be willing to take part in mediation for it to go ahead.

Below are the stages involved:

1️⃣ Introductory call with the parties involved
After we agree to go forward I will have a call with each party involved in the disagreement to get an overview of what has been happening and talk them through how I will work with them.

2️⃣ Meeting each party separately
On the day I meet separately with the two parties to understand the issues from their perspective.

3️⃣ Bringing the parties together
When everyone is ready I will bring the two parties together so we can discuss a way forward.

4️⃣ Reaching an agreement
The solution is mutually agreed and written up into a confidential agreement.

5️⃣ Post mediation follow up
I follow up afterwards to make sure that everything has gone to plan and the agreement is being honoured by all parties.

Having an independent person like me helps open up conversations that would otherwise be difficult to have.

It’s my job to guide you through a tried and tested process that I am experienced in delivering. It gives the parties the opportunity to understand and empathise with each other.

Sound better than what’s happening now?

Yesterday I was out delivering training to real-life people — in an actual room, with actual faces, energy, and conversation.

Most of the training I’ve delivered since Covid has been online, and while virtual workshops absolutely have their benefits, nothing beats being in the room together.

And let’s be honest… you can’t do Play‑Doh activities on Zoom!
