Data Retention on GA4: User and event data retention on the new GA4 is something that all companies who are serious about data collection to improve website and marketing performance, need to make sure they have set up correctly.

The user and event data retention on GA4 is automatically set up for 2 months. Yes, you read right, the data you see in the new GA4 disappears after 2 months unless you change it. This means that you will never be able to see Year on Year trends.

With this in mind, you really need to ensure that your data retention settings in GA4 are amended.

It’s really simple to do, but in most instances will get overlooked.

Philip came to me today, and said “it’s time to go”

I looked at him and smiles as I whispered that “I know”.

I turned and looked behind me, and saw I was asleep

My family were around me, and I could hear them weep.

I gently touched each shoulder, with Philip by my side.

Then I turned away and walked with my Angel guide.

Philip held my hand as he lead the way

to a world where Kings and Queens are monarchs every day.

I was given a crown to wear, a “Halo” known by some.

The difference is up they are worn by everyone.

I felt a sense of peace, my reign had seen its end.

70 years I had served my Country as the peoples friend.

Thank you for the years, for all your time and love.

Now I am one of two again, in our palace up above.

At about 9:30 pm Eastern Time on 8th August 2022, Google had a widespread outage with Google Search. This issue continued through the night, and efforts to restore the service seemed to mitigate some of the connectivity issues many have experienced.

However, their issues did not stop there. Unfortunately, this also seemed to result in a cascade of other issues with Google Search around search quality and rankings.

What happened?
It appears that a Google data center in Council Bluffs, Iowa USA caught fire, and the result of the fire sadly injured some of their workers and also caused issues in Google Search. The incident occurred at 11:59 a.m. local time on Monday
