Great insights from our Director of Compliance, Imogen Huxford, on an important topic for the Health and Social Care sector.

Person-centred care is central to quality care delivery, but as Imogen highlights, providers also need to clearly evidence this during CQC inspections. Reviewing care planning systems, staff training and documentation processes can make a real difference.

If your service would benefit from support reviewing these areas, our Care 4 Quality team is always happy to help.

Health and Social Care sector is confident that it is meeting CQC’s Person-Centred care standards. Confidence is high, but concerns of time pressures could hinder progress in this area of the regulator’s framework, new survey reveals.

Did you know a failure to provide person-centred care remains one of the most common reasons services receive negative inspection findings? 🔎

For inspectors, person-centred care:

❌ is not about intentions, well-written policies, or values statements on the wall
✅ is about considering people’s individual needs, preferences, and rights in day-to-day care decisions

Make sure you know how to evidence person-centred care in practice. Join Julie Walton, Head of Health and Social Care Compliance, for a free 60-minute webinar focused on this integral part of the CQC framework.

🚨 CQC Framework Updates: What Providers Need to Know in 2026 🚨

The CQC is gearing up for big changes in 2026, and our first blog of the year breaks down what you need to know. From more frequent inspections and clearer, sector-specific frameworks, to simplified scoring and stronger digital integration, there’s a lot on the horizon for adult social care, primary care, hospitals, and more.

Key takeaways for providers:
✅ Risk-driven inspections coming soon – plan ahead!
✅ Return of clear rating characteristics and tailored frameworks
✅ Scoring system becoming simpler, feedback-focused
✅ Stronger CQC relationships and digital integration
✅ Final frameworks expected by summer 2026

🌍 On 3rd December, we recognised International Day of Persons with Disabilities! 🧡

At Care 4 Quality, we reflected on the importance of ensuring that everyone is supported with dignity, independence, choice and control within health and social care. The day served as a powerful reminder of why inclusive, person-centred support matters for people with physical, learning, sensory or other disabilities.

We highlighted how everyday actions — such as making reasonable adjustments, listening to individuals’ needs, and involving people in decisions about their care — play a crucial role in supporting true inclusion.

Thank you to everyone who continues to champion dignity and inclusive, high-quality care. 💙
