CAFE SCARECROW PARADE.

Thank you to the Tynewater School Community for the wonderful class scarecrows we were able to display on Saturday 3rd October at the Pathhead Pop Up Café Afternoon Tea. The school families and local people were very supportive, and the hall was filled with customers, which kept our team on their toes.

We had a brilliant team behind the scenes making sandwiches, serving tea and dealing with mountains of washing up. Thank you to all the bakers of the home-made scones and cakes.

Added attractions were the local crafters stalls, a lady from Thistle Foundation and a kids Messy Church craft table. We were also collecting good quality men’s clothing for the Edinburgh Clothing bank and sent away 10 large bags of clothes. Everyone who came were very generous with their donations and we raised £700 which will be split equally between our charities the Tynewater After School Club and the Thistle Foundation Midlothian Wellbeing Projects.

The Scarecrow Parade included Wicked, a Pirate, an Ancient King, a Witch, Bob the Builder, a Dinosaur, Harry Potter and Michael Jackson!

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, enjoyed a cuppa and cake, and helped make our fundraiser such a success. Every penny raised will help support Macmillan and the incredible work they do for people and families affected by cancer.
It was wonderful to see our community coming together once again for such an important cause. 💚
