Community update for Begbroke.
I am continuing to follow several important matters in Begbroke, including flooding, local connections and improvements around the Village Hall.
Residents have raised concerns about drainage in Begbroke Lane and outstanding temporary bund and ditch works following the flooding experienced in September 2024. Four drains near one affected property were reported as recently cleared, but concerns remain about other drains, gutter sweeping and the wider drainage position.
A proposal is in the process of being developed for a feasibility study of the Begbroke Village Hall grounds. I’ve made an indicative request for £15,000 of project-development funding, with any allocation still subject to the Cherwell District Council Area Development Fund process.
I have also proposed holding a regular councillor surgery at the Community Coffee Hub on the first Saturday of each month, subject to final agreement with the Village Hall. The first should be 3rd October at 10am.
I will continue seeking progress and keeping residents informed.
