August has been one hell of a month, and the numbers really show just how much waste we’ve been moving across the Isle of Wight! 💪🚛

In ONE TIP ALONE, this month we tipped:

📦 Cardboard: 2,460kg
🍔 Food Waste: 4,460kg
🍾 Glass: 2,880kg
🧱 Inert Waste: 440kg
🗑️ General Waste: 35,180kg
🏠 POPs Waste: 1,440kg
🪵 Wood: 2,360kg

💥 A STAGGERING 49,220KG OF WASTE! 💥

That’s 49.220 TONNES of waste dealt with — and remember, THIS IS JUST ONE TIP WE USE ON THE ISLAND! 🤯

August has been absolutely relentless. Long days, big jobs, commercial collections, clearances, fly-tipped waste and everything in between.

🛞💥 TYRES DON’T BELONG IN A HEDGE, FIELD, PRIVATE LAND OR LAY-BY! 💥🛞

Another load of tyres removed by Ace Waste Isle of Wight and the shocking truth is that around 90% of the tyres we dispose of have come from fly-tipping.

Let’s be honest… who actually thinks dumping a pile of tyres on private land is acceptable? 🤦‍♂️

We’re out there clearing up the mess left behind by people who clearly couldn’t be bothered to dispose of them properly in the first place.

And here’s the thing there is absolutely no excuse.

Got tyres you need rid of? DO IT PROPERLY.

🔥 WHAT A SUMMER IT’S BEEN! 🔥

Wow… what a MEGA busy summer it’s been for Ace Waste! 💪🚛

We’ve been working some seriously long hours, late nights and weekends to keep everything moving and make sure we’ve kept up with the demand. It’s been hard graft, but we did it! 👊

We know we’ve had a fair few people apply for the job, and we’re sorry we haven’t got around to going through them sooner. The simple reason is that we’ve been absolutely flat out keeping up with the workload.

But this weekend coming 5th & 6th September, we’re finally sitting down and going through ALL the applications and seeing who could be the right fit for the Ace Waste team. 👀

A BIG, BIG shoutout to every single one of our amazing customers for supporting us throughout the summer. ❤️

Over the past few days, the Ace Waste team have been out and about tackling loads of fly-tipped waste across the Island. 💪🚛

It’s hard graft, but seeing an area go from a mess of dumped rubbish back to looking clean and tidy makes it all worthwhile.

Hopefully the people living and working in these areas can see the difference once we’ve been through and cleared it all. 👀👏

♻️ WHAT IS POPs WASTE?

You may have heard the term POPs waste but wondered what it actually means.

POPs = Persistent Organic Pollutants. These are chemicals that can remain in the environment for a long time and can be harmful to people and wildlife.

Certain older items can contain POPs, including some sofas, armchairs, office chairs, upholstered furniture and other padded items.

🚨 Important: POPs waste cannot simply be treated like normal household waste. Where an item is identified as containing POPs, it needs to be handled and disposed of through the correct waste route.

At Ace Waste Isle of Wight, we can help with the removal of unwanted furniture and other waste, making sure it goes through the appropriate disposal process.

We wanted something strong, practical and built properly for the job — and Jim absolutely smashed it! 💪🔩

It’s great having local businesses that can turn an idea into exactly what you need, rather than settling for something off the shelf.

Next stage is down to us! 🎨
We’ll be getting it painted and then it’s off for the sign writing to be added, ready to finish it off properly and give it the Ace Waste look! 🔥♻️

It’s already looking the part — just needs a bit of colour and branding now! 😎
