This is a self employed role

The role:

* Waste clearance and collection across the Isle of Wight
* Working in all weather conditions

A massive thank you to Wightstone Tyres, especially Dan - for coming out so quickly and fixing our flat tyre. Great service and a great price too.

Especially after being told by another company to take the wheel off ourselves and bring it to them. As waste carriers, we don’t carry that sort of equipment with us, so we really appreciated the quick help and professionalism.

Just a little post to clear a few things up, as some people seem to think waste disposal is free or that we can just go to the tip and pay one set price per load — unfortunately, that’s not how it works.

Here at Ace Waste Isle of Wight, we have to pay to dispose of all waste we collect, and charges are based on weight and the type of waste. We always do our very best to keep our prices as fair and reasonable as possible for everyone.

Some items such as sofas, chairs and other upholstered furniture are classed as hazardous waste (POPs), which means there are extra charges and strict rules on how they must be disposed of. TVs, fridge freezers and other electrical items also come with separate disposal costs.

Everything we collect is disposed of correctly, legally and responsibly through the proper waste facilities. We do not cut corners, and we always make sure your waste goes where it should.

We pride ourselves on being honest, reliable and fair, and we really appreciate all of our customers for supporting a local business. 💚♻️

Today we attended several sites where make sure the bins are not contaminated 8 out of 9 were not to bad, but as you can see this one was locked out due to contaminated waste, black bags mixed with recycling waste.

When waste isn’t disposed of correctly, it doesn’t just cause a mess — it leads to collections being refused, leaving residents stuck with overflowing bins and unsafe areas.

👍 The good news — we got it sorted today.
Our team cleared the bin stores and helped get things back on track.

⚠️ Please remember:

* Only use the correct bins
* Don’t dump bulky waste in bin stores
* Report fly tipping when you see it

The team at Ace Waste Isle of Wight are out working today (Saturday) to catch up on jobs across the island.

With all the diversions and road closures recently, things have been a bit slower than usual — but we’re doing everything we can to stay on track and keep our service running smoothly 💪
