Meet the Smart Home Team part 6

Today is all about Lewis. He has been with us at Smart Home for 2 years this month! He has a level 2 diploma and a level 3 NVQ.

His favourite part of the job apparently is getting paid 😂- we all love that!
Outside of work he enjoys socialising with friends, working on cars and getting a late night McFlurry

Lewis' first job was working on the Mudeford fish stall 🐟 when he was 15 and his dream job was an electrician- dreams really do come true!

His favourite holiday was the Maldives 🇲🇻 and his dream holiday would be to Singapore 🇸🇬 .

For pets Lewis has two staffies named Duke and Obi along with two miniature parrots named Loco and Luna

Also, his favourite ice cream flavour is mint choc chip 🍦- yum!

Meet the Smart Home Team part 5

Up today is Kieran.

Kieran is our apprentice who has officially been working at Smart Home for 22 months however, we have actually been blessed with his presence for a little longer as he also completed some work experience with us.

He has completed a PAT testing certification, Fire Training Course and holds a National Pool Lifeguarding qualification....... Sounds like a good person to have around during an emergency!

His ideal job at work would be doing first fix studwork, with the sun shining and radio blasting 📻🌞

Out of work Kieran enjoys going for drives, learning about cars, camping, photography, playing pool and gaming.

His first job was at a kebab shop, free food and good money, what more could you want?!

When Kieran was younger, if he could've had any job, it would have been doing motorcross freestyle- hmm unusual!

His dream holiday is in Greece 🇬🇷 to party and explore the Minotaurs labyrinth.

He has 2 cats and 2 dogs.

If he could learn any skill, instantly, it would be those of a mechanic because of his love for cars and also for its usefulness in life.

Ideal super powers for Kieran would be super-intelligence and photographic memory.

Myth vs Fact - Solar Edition

Myth: Solar doesn't work when it is cloudy
Fact: As long as the sky is bright enough for you to see your panels will generate power as they require daylight not specifically sunlight

Myth: You need a south-facing roof for solar panels to be effective
Fact: Although, south-facing panels generate the most power, other directions are still very effective

Myth: You always need planning permission for solar panels
Fact: It is very rare to require planning permission for residential solar installations.

Myth: Solar panels can never pay back the carbon dioxide debt from their manufacturing
Fact: Although the production of solar panels does release carbon dioxide, it is estimated that this 'debt' is paid back within a mere 4 months of use

Meet the Smart Home team part 4

Sorry it's a little late, our focus for today has been busy working on a new Smart Home Technical contract in Cornwall but, without further ado, here it is

Reece a.k.a. Borris has been working at Smart Home for 1.5 years and is both level 3 qualified and passed his AM2.
His favourite thing about the job is cutting out downlights.

When not at work he both loves to spend time with family and also loves watching the footy (he is a huge Saints fan).

Reece got his first job at 13 being a paperboy until 15.
His dream job-like many of the other members of the team- was to be a professional footballer.

If he had to live anywhere in the world other than England it would be Australia (where he lived previously) as the lifestyle suited him massively and Reece felt that everyone wants you to win there.
Biggest difference between Australia and England when working for Reece would definitely be the heat as it gets so bad that roof spaces are out of bounds for most of the year! Wow!

For pets he has 2 dogs named Lola and Poppy.
