I recently attended this boiler for its annual service / safety check. On making the appointment I was assured the boiler had been regularly serviced so booked my usual hour slot. On arrival I checked the service history which recorded nothing other than “All ok” and immediately after removing the cover realised all was “not” ok!
Most boiler manufacturers recommend regular changing of gaskets for various reasons, mostly as due to extreme continual heat they break down. It was clear this had never had anything of the sort!
3.5 hrs later we had the following…..
Cleared blocked heat exchanger, replacment seals, replaced leaking auto air vent, new spark electrodes, replacment sensors as they had become damaged due to moisture. To finish off I provided a comprehensive service service sheet to pass to the customer of works completed.
I think this boiler was saved just in time!

Just a little home project I’ve been working on. I moved away from bathrooms many years ago as I just found them too time consuming and it meant I couldn’t always attend my regular customers as I was tied down to a job often a week ( sometimes weeks)at a time, in addition with everyone moving away from traditional bathroom swaps to more technical bathroom furniture etc I just couldn’t provide the final product to a standard I would be happy to have in my own home. Glad to see I’ve still got it though, although it was very hard work, but definitely worth the wait. While I don’t do full bathroom refits anymore if you need some recommendations I’ve got some fantastic local contacts always willing to offer their services!

So my first of the new 4000 series Worcester combination boiler, updated from the i series incorporating soft edges, more aesthetically pleasing, new intuitive colour screen and general updates to make installing and servicing just that little bit easier. This one comes with 10 years manufacturers guarantee as the customer opted in for the Worcester system filter.
Customer replaced a original 24i Worcester and made the choice to stick with Worcester because the old had had proven itself to be so reliable.

A magnetic filter is not designed to replace a normal clean of your system water, it’s designed to compliment your system and add reassusrance that if the worst happens and your water does go bad, it adds protection to stop your boiler getting blocked before you can get it sorted.
This has apparently been serviced a year and a half ago but I’m struggling to believe that, or at least that advice wasn’t offered. I can offer on-site water testing now to help identify issues with your system water early. A quote has been provided to flush the system.

Just realised it’s been a while since I last posted. We’re still in the middle of a pandemic, however it’s not stopped the phone ringing, it’s kind of still business as usual, but not in the normal sense.
The recent cold spell highlights the need for regular servicing and maintenance of your heating system, so don’t be put off from calling, I’m still working!
The start of the year has been busy with boiler servicing, maintence and installs. Following a recent job where the boiler was totally fouled up I’m more conscious than ever that water quality plays a important part in prolonging the life of your boiler ( I’ve included a couple of photos of the bunged up pipes) and so I’ve taken the decision to invest in some on site water testing kits. I already use my turbidity tube to measure clarity and TDS meter to ensure I’m leaving my new boilers as clean as can be, but now I can back that up with chemical analysis just to provide you some extra reassurance that I’m going that one step further.
I’ll be doing this on all my new installs from now on, and during service and maintenance I’ll be offering it as a extra to provide some scientific based evidence for cleaning or maintenance.
Today’s install was my first using the kit and the customer was very happy to know that I was leaving it in tip top condition. Yet again a very happy customer 👍

Another install Monday. The old Worcester boiler was best part of 20 years old, still working, but making a few groaning noises. Customer opted for a new Compact Cdi boiler with a little more output than they had previously been used too. I enhanced the controls with a new Easy Control internet enabled room stat. The customer was slightly wary of the new “technology” but once they got stuck in they realised just how intuitive and easy it was to use, and after only a days use they called to say what a massive difference there was and how the heat is so much more comfortable!
For good measure all the old pipe work was cut back and re-installed, all clipped and neat, you could have played a tune with the old stuff 😂😂!
Topped off with a 10 year manufacturers guarantee, what more could you want 👍

Nice install at the beginning of the week for a lovely old couple. They were very surprised at how quiet the new boiler was compared to the last, and reports back following a few days use is they are extremely happy, and wondered why they didn’t change it years ago. They now get the added benefit of a 10 year guarantee which in their latter years gives them plenty of confidence that they can enjoy hassle free heating and water! All in all a nice little job 👍

Don’t see many of these old floor standing boilers about anymore, and now there’s one less that I’m going to meet on my travels. Fortunately the system already had independent heating and water, however I did a quick controls upgrade to further help improve comfort levels for the customer. All set up, with a 10 year guarantee on the boiler and filter.

Another install completed last week, it was basically 1 out, 1 in. The old one lasted about 15 years and was one of the early condensing boilers, unfortunately it developed a serious leak and so the customer decided it was time to change. The new one is the latest revised model, offering slightly better efficiency and the option to add smart controls, so we went all in and added internet enabled controls, offering load and weather compensation, as well as a 12 year manufacturers guarantee! Customer is very happy with the end result 😊
